Groaning grinding creaking noise

I stand corrected. I have the Pilot Sport (Michelin) 17" on my Cayman. Its still grinding / groaning away when I make a slow left turn or reverse out (right). :-( __________________ G MAN 08

Does not seem normal to me. What does "clunk" mean. Is it a sound or something you feel?

It is enabled in two places, the DME and the Instrument Cluster. I suspect when they changed the Instrument Cluster Settings they forgot to add Cruise Control. The problem with the instrument cluster is unlike all of the other computers that you can enable or disable functions one at...

Clutch Pedal Spring?
Published (2008-11-27 00:11:00)
ISST - I have a similiar issue. Dealer replaced the clutch slave cylinder (I did not have any problems - was part of a recall) and after they changed it I noticed the exact same thing. The last inch or two of travel feels like the clutch passes over some type of detent - although there is no noise. I thought it just needed adjustment but have not done anything about it. Feels somewhat like the cylinder travel bottoms about two inches from...

I've taken this to my local dealer once and am thinking of taking it to another. My local dealer said it's "normal" and their other Caymans do the same thing. My passenger seat, the seatback specifically, vibrates a lot. It vibrates/pulsates over bumps, when idling, on the highway... pretty much all the time. I thought that movement was odd. Also, because it vibrates/pulsates, it sometimes...

I had the same problem, it was a strut issue, it took a couple of trips to the dealer but eventually got fixed.

I feel a faint clunking feeling through the dead pedal while I am driving. Doesn't necessarily have to be a bumpy road. Is that normal or should I alert my dealer? __________________ 2006 Porsche Cayman S 2007 Volkswagen GTI DSG www.needmusic.com...

I was about to spend the $110 to buy the schematics for the electrical system, as I am modifying the output for the alarm, only to find NOTHING! I've searched here, and see that Suneet has mentioned having some of the diagrams, and have seen the PorscheLibrarian posts, but was hoping to get the info from Porsche itself. Guess not. Is it true that the US gov't requires technical info be provided...

If you consult your owners manual (page 150 for 2007 models) you will find the following. A - Headlight washer (Vehicles with Bi-Xenon headlights): The washer sprays only while low beam or high beam is switched on. Briefly push button A to operate headlight washer system. If heavily soiled, repeat wash. The headlight washer system automatically sprays once for ...

My car was in the dealers last month getting two rattles sorted. While it was there I managed to persuade a tech to stop the seatbelt chime for me. Last night I went to use the cruise control and although it worked, the light on the instrument cluster didn't light up. One of the rattles they fixed was on the drivers side front corner so they were working behind the area of the light....

Is their a sticky thread anywhere with a list of known problems, by year? This seems to be the best thread I've found so far regarding known "issues." I've done a search and that's how I found this thread but just thought I'd ask if there are any other ones.

This is probably 'Breaking Free' of the Disc Pads/Discs when setting off, which in the inclement weather we are having in the UK at present makes your discs a little rusty......... You notice this when you set off, and after a little while the rust wears off, with brake use giving you a 'normal' response..........

Be sure to sell it while its still got some warranty, so the next owner can have it looked into FOR FREE.

OK, After many phone calls back and forth, the dealer aagrees there is a problem engaging second gear on downshifts. They checked the shift linkage and did not find any misadjustment. The Porsche Tech Advisor for warranty work had them drain and inspect the fluid, no metal contamination found. They then advised the dealer to replace the fluid and check again - still a problem with shifting (no ...
