I purchased a 2006 Cayman S from a Porsche dealership last week. Very nice car, but I do have some concerns. I did not notice these things looking it over at the dealer, but you know how it is. You REALLY obsess over the little details after you get it home, put a coat of Zaino on, etc. First off, the panel gap on the driver's side of the hatch seems a little wide. Upon closer inspection...

To me the PDK is no different from Automatic. Yes it shifts faster and no power is lost during gear shifts so you get better performance. But the bottomline is that how you drive a PDK is no different from how you drive an Automatic. So if you really find no fun driving an Automatic, don't go for PDK. Also, why not try out some of the dual-clutch transmissions available out there already ...

There has been a chart posted on this forum comparing the damping in the normal and sport modes of PASM . I don't have the link to it but I'm sure a search will locate it. In any case, it appears to show that the differences in damping between the two modes are generally less pronounced at higher input velocities than they are at lower velocities. The higher velocities correspond to ...

No one has any feedback on the new Cayman or the LA Auto Show event? I know some people couldn't view this topic due to permission problems today so hopefully this will bump it back up for a notice and perhaps some responses!

As I watched this roll on/roll off ship pass through the Panama Canal today I imagined that it may have been full of Porsches. Is anyone expecting a ship to arrive in LA soon?

I went through the order sheet for the 2009 Cayman S with my dealer today. Porsche is putting the exact same brakes on the S that they put on the base. Only the paint color on the calipers will be different. Interesting, don't you think?

Hello all, I have been looking at Caymans and I stumbled onto this site. It's great! My current Porsches are my daily driven 944 turbo, 1971 914-6 (3.2 conversion), and my 944 Cup racecar, as well as a fleet of 944 parts cars. I'm looking to move to a base Cayman daily driver. I really want to find a used one with a 6-speed but I don't think there are any (anywhere). I can get my fix here ...
