The album is horrible. Blah blah it's only my opinion blah blah. But it is indeed horrible. First time I actually laughed out loud at a song, and I mean an honest laugh. I figured most people that liked it were having a Crystal Skull Syndrome thing, but apparently there weren't that many. Blame, though, is on not releasing Better as the lead single. Even though I think he overproduced it (by which I mean, I think I'll try to...

I think it's tragic what happened to happened all three main guitarists, Green's story is pretty much well known but Kirwan was last seen in a homeless shelter, Jeremy Spencer originally joined a cult and faded into obscurity until he emerged with a CD a few years back, the Mac's history is really quite amazing. "Futile Bread Machine (Campfire Version)" by Meshuggah, "Destroy erase improve? Whassat all 'bout, eh?" "Twill" by Elliott Brood I saw these guys when they opened up for o'death a while back, I've quickly become a fan of their folky death country.

Who did you see? I was 17 in 2001 and saw Pantera and Slayer during the Extreme Steel Tour. It was fucking amazing and awesome to say that was my first concert.

So Dr. Pepper is offering a free can of soda to everyone in America if Guns n Roses releases Chinese Democracy. That's bizarre. What's also bizarre is some accountant at some record label is still approving the studio bills for this fucking record. Can't some label head tell Axl it's done and ship it? This album could sound like oral sex feels and it would still not be worth the damn ...

I am sad to see how dead this thread is. Since I'm interning this summer, I will likely look to the boards for a distraction. Let's keep it simple, what albums are you listening to lately? I haven't listened to any new hip hop for months, so I'm looking for ideas.

Looks like the old one got lost. If not, I'm an asshole and I apologize. Anyway, Stars' "Take Me To The Riot" is a real face-melter. When did Canada start producing bands that know how to do a great anthemic rock song? Also, Rufus Wainwright's cover of "Over The Rainbow," because that flute, holy shit, and "Dickhead" by Kate Nash, because I'm immature and she uses the exact same guitar...

I actually haven't noticed a thread in this vein on this board. So as a conversation-starter, I ask you to tell me what is your defining band if you could name only one. The music you are most passionate about. For myself, it's Captain Beefheart & The Magic Band. I believe Don Van Vliet is an absolute genius among the great composers of centuries ago - I've yet to hear any rock musician that...

It's a cliché to say that music gets worse with every generation, from people whining about Elvis and the Beatles in their time to rap today. I'm pretty sure at some point an old African shaman or whatever thought to himself "boy, these young guys are killing percussion". So, in a way, every time there's a new thing, I guess a reasonably intelligent person could assume that maybe it's not as ...

Granted, we still have a month ago; anything can happen between now and December 31st. We do, however, have 11 months of 2008 in the can and plenty of music to discuss. So, how about it? What's your favorite album (or albums if you want to go all out) of 2008? For me, I think the best album is probably Portishead's Third . There were tons of great sounds on this album, and it's really ...

http://www.thelifefiles.com/exclusiv...uced-by-kan ye/ To any other Hove fans out there who didn't already know, another track supposedly going to be on 'Blueprint 3' has leaked. Produced by Kanye West. Man, the beat is real sick. It's nothing too complex, or that original really, but still makes you want to bounce with the volume turned up. BP3 is looking like it's going to be ...

Got this idea from Savage who posted a link to Nickelback getting booed off the stage in Portugal. There are a lot of instances out there where bands get pissed at the audience, and they're not always bad musicians either. Whether it's for the crowd not getting into it, or throwing things at the band, I'm sure there are plenty of hilarious videos in the depths of YouTube that need to be ...
