I think this just proves the point that if it takes 1 year or 23 years, you don't give up on the human body and the abuse it can take. He spent a lot of time sleeping and dreaming, so not so sure of this case.

I'm all for making executions as painful and time consuming as possible, punishment fit to the crime etc. Take this guy for instance, the one that the thread is originally about. I think lethal injection is far too good for him, too easy a way out. If it were up to me he'd be hung, drawn and quartered instead.

It always comforts people to label those who commit heinous acts as non-human, but the truth is that they are human, and that's not a comfortable thing to know. I am convinced that the psychological "distance" between those who commit these sort of crimes and the majority of the law-abiding population is considerably shorter than most of us would like to believe.

it makes very good sense, surprised they don't already do it and surprised by the fact there's even a good signal in a prison anyway with all the concrete walls etc
