I've long thought of Christ (J.C.) as the man that re-set time. That's the B.C. / A.D. designation; based on him. Remarkable. We also skipped from the Julian calendar, to the Gregorian calendar. That reset the dates. And I've read that the reason we use a two times twelve standard, instead of a one times twenty four standard for the number of hours in the day, was because the religious men that rang the church bell to call out...

The very idea that all Americans are capable of carrying a concealed weapon and everyone therefore is safe, continues. Four policemen, killed in a cafe outside of Seattle, four family members shot to death during a Thanksgiving dinner in Florida, 13 soldiers murdered at Ft.Hood. This, boys and girls, is the America of today. Not one American can be certain of returning home alive from at trip to the 7-11. It is complete Lunacy. The rest of...

Yes, it should be aired....especially if the goal a well informed voting population? Especially the rumor mongering that has been going on and the problems we are faced? Interuption quality/prime time television.....too funny. No breaks.....Fox' refusal...more political than financial? All carry....it's their "patriotic" duty?

I think the first time you can talk about citizens in the modern sense is the Roman Empire and citizenship was extended to all free men specifically because only citizens could pay tax or be called on fior military service. Before then it makes better sense to understand citizens more as 'members'. There's precious little a Greek city-state actually did for you but it expected you to fight for it, hence varying degrees of...

You couldn't PAY me to live there. I'm on the other coast. GA has a DMV, but only for licences. Tags are issued by the various county treasurers offices.

And that is a good analogy for polygamy: After all if a man can provide better for 2 or 3 children/wife than someone else can for a single one then logically he also gets that persons "turn" at reproduction. The inverse is a bit harder to work out (Woman with many man) and it might help explain the dichotomy of polygamy trough history past the simple "Men are dominant in history" thing. But then this is all...

The cost of the visit $1.7 Million almost offset the $1.4 Million prize that Obama will receive. Why don't the Nobel Committee help pay for security cost since they have a lot of money?

this guy or the last have/had to say. It seems early for a state of the union, so whats this grandstanding to be about?

I've argued this one before, Sear. Jesus didn't "reset" or set the clock, the system was adopted several hundred years after his death and
simply became the de facto norm through the fact that the church was the dominant power at the time (argue that point if you want, it could be interesting).
The fact is that it is the western world that has forced its clock and calendar onto other cultures...

It's the same idea as M.A.D. - with nukes - if eveyone has them, eveyone will be too scared to use them. Except guns aren't nukes and people aren't
countries.

Or is it, that we (the general public) have seen so much 'Spin', used to explain or force through new as yet un-tried ways, which some we have later
seen to be just white wash, taken from un-proven idea's.
And further, does anyone really expect a country like China, who's whole structure is now resting on how much she can produce, ...

I think half of human reproduction is unplanned and people were just f*** away and if they got pregnant they would think "Whatever, another baby's on
the way. At least I have fun f***" Animals are instinctly programmed to procreate and continue the species. I don't have any child because I'm not
financially free and don't own a house to raise a family in. I'm waiting until I have more free time ...

It's due to evolution R15.
Women are the ones that gestate. That's a huge investment in time, nutrition, physical pain, etc.
And the first 9 months are the easy part. It's the next two decades that are the real headache.
Over evolutionary time periods, women have learned to be, and have been rewarded for being as selective as they can possibly be.
That's the strategy women use to ...

I seriously doubt there's anything about camel meat that's as gross as what's in hotdogs.

Are humans basically good? Or basically bad?
Neither, Humans have a basic competitiveness to them (genes are made to replicate) and that's it,even then it is nothing a vast social
pressure in the right direction and a one or two generation of not teaching that your worth = how much better you are in comparison to those around you would
not cure.

I realize that the word "previous" was likely what was meant, but I thought the actual definition of "pervious" might be interesting to
consider...
"we can succeed in where all the pervious revolutions have failed" -Anarchus
pervious-

1. admitting of passage or entrance; permeable: pervious soil.
2. open or accessible to reason, feeling, argument, etc.
