Re: is my bumper 1 of a kind? I've never seen this particular style before. Judging by the number of variations I have seen, I think many were not sourced from GM, but from a local trailer hitch supplier or fabrication shop. With the dealer name etched in it, it's likely it came from one of these local shops. I like the idea of chroming and keeping it, especially with such a unique design. I thought about having my original Barden...

Re: Horse Collar Engine Mount 283 if you are going to a trans rear mount as in 700r4 then you should side mount your eng. as in your orig setup it was mounted b/sides of the b/housing and the frt of the eng, now you want 1 on each side of the eng and 1 under the trans. one should have a 3 point mounting system which helps stabilize the eng from twisting due to the torque. being mounted frt and rear is like being on a pivot ron

It shouldn't be much different that converting to a 5.3 a 6.0 or any other LSX engine. I believe that the 8.1 are a drive by wire though. There are a few guys on this forum that have done the 5.3 or 6.0 swap. I'm sure one of them will chime in. I would say there would be more pros than cons.

I really like your truck and the Torque thrust rims. Really nice profile. Something is needed here but I do not think that is quite it. The back fender looks good, but something is missing in the door area .... Maybe try adding a couple more on the door?

Steel Bed Floor? Has anyone ever put a truck together with a bed and used a steel floor? How did you or would you build the floor? I was thinking about doing this and using a 73-87 bed floor. __________________ 1964 C15 crewcab, big window, short fleet http://67-72chevytrucks.com...
