I think I am going insane. There is some blow by in the cylinders and the motor is going to have to be re-built. The head was also cracked. WTF. I cant see dropping $4k to rebuild this 235 straight 6. Anyone have any ideas on a cost effective v8 swap that doesnt involve a subframe swap?

Here are some pictures that might help you. I measured where the center of the hole would be in the bedside. It is about 3 1/4" from the stake post and about 1 3/4" from the bottom of the bedside. That would be about right to drill your hole. The hole itself is 2 1/2". As you can see there is a piece of hose between the filler neck and the tank neck, so you have some flexibility and there is a rubber grommet that...

OK, I'm getting my build back on track after a small detour. I was having a lot of problems trying to select some seats that I liked. After buying the donor Vette I decided to see how it's seats looked in the truck. After spending a bunch of time mocking up different heights I built a seat frame today and got them installed. The frame is roughed in but I think it will work. I am going to get some electric seat track to put under...

You caught me. I was just thinking about how bad I'd been about any new news since posting about the tires, heh. So YES, here's some stuff to chew on. First, just got the radiator back from being resoldered for a couple leaks. Replaced all the hose while I was at it. Started it up, ten minutes later I was sitting at 212 degrees and no apparent coolant circulating. I think the thermostat might have frozen up while it was dry and stuck...

After 4 years of other projects, I'm finally going to start on my 52 GMC Burb. I picked up my 2002 GMC Envoy yesterday. Haven't seen my idea done with an AD. Basically I'm going to cut off the Envoy shell, leaving the entire floor with seats, firewall, most of the dash, etc. Then remove the shell of the 52, 'channel' it over the Envoy chassis, leaving the drivetrain and all the accessories intact...

I finally decided to post some pictures of the tear down on the 48. I bought the truck with some work done and a lot of new parts. It was blasted to bare metal then repainted, but I did not care for the guys bodywork or lack of. The owner did not want filler used so the shop etched, sealed, base coated and cleared the truck. Some panels looked pretty good, others were too wavy for me. I am ...

This is my first early Chevy. I picked up this 57 from a local guy that had done a lot of awesome work on it. He converted it from a small window to a large and from long wheel base to short. He repaired the cab corners, tubed the bed, installed late model Chevy 1/2 ton springs, an S10 axle and a Mustang gas tank under the bed. Loading at the seller's Home Tour ...

For those that haven't seen my 64 C10, this is what happens when a fuel line springs a leak......all kinds of excitement happens, glass melting, tires blowing out, wires melt and starter tries to fire up, air bags popping.... you get the idea, and 1 of those little fire extinguishers don't did ...

Well with the purchase of the suspension I’ve decided to go ahead and start a build thread. I’ll start from the beginning just to document it all on one page. This was what it looked like from the street. 3rd year of college I decided ...
