So I've been looking for a bus for sometime now, in the past I've came close to buying one but I never went for it. But I stopped by an old friend's house a few months ago and saw this gem sitting in his driveway. And I knew that I had to have it. As it turns out, my friend was storing it for his next door neighbor. Right away I inquired about the bus, and was told that he was 50/50 ...

D0 is a Beetle 1200cc engine. A good used Solex 28PICT or 28 PICT-1 is probably best if it's original with the original distributor. _________________ How to post photos | My VWs "Water is the only drink for a wise man" "Confidence in the goodness of another is good proof of one's own goodness." I sitting here smiling about my swap from the 34 pitch 3 carb to the 30 pict 1 carb and I just wanted to see what people encounterd while tuning them. Also wanted to see what they did to tune them. Seems theres a lot less search threads on actuall tuning. Yeah I see a few but I guess the 30 pict 1 must have less issues. It usually more about which carb to use or , whats the best carb to use....

Just spent all day re-wiring 65 deluxe. I finished and tested everything in the shop, all wiring was good. Took it for a drive and tried to use my turn signals only to find they did not work. Pulled over, turn engine off and tried signals and flashers, worked again. Detemined they only work when key is off. Followed samba wiring diagram and just looked through 10 pages of forum and I did ...

Well I see all the threads about how to lower your bus, But lets talk about saving the splits and give them some ground clearance! I have saved my 60 double cab. When I got it had lowered spindles and a straight axel kit! so install some rebuilt spindles and a big nut tranny some BFG 215 75 15 on stock rims and lets go of roading so we to can get a picture of our bus in the off the beaten path ...

Okay, I've been fighting these spindles on my beam for two days now and i've read and read on here and cannot come up with why these spindles will not go on. I have 2'' narrowed beam thats been cut to a 4'' narrowed one, torsion springs are cut down as well. Nates dropped spindles I measured the offset and its exactly 6.5 on each side, I stacked the proper amount of ...

I think it is fun to see pics of what was and still is out there in those ditches, fields, barns, wherever. Also to see where all those that have been put back on the road came from (fore & aft). Anyone else feel the same way? This bus had been it the same spot since 1979. The owner had a few more througout the years and cut them up to make trikes. One was a 23. He ...

I did not see any forum for "Other VW related Technical" so since I have seen Eriba Pucks owned by Bus owners and other posts here regarding the Eriba Puck, I figured I would start it here. I need to replace the wheel bearing seals on my late 60s early 70s Eriba Puck as grease is coming out the inner seal area and getting all over the wheel. I removed the tire, popped over the ...

Toolbox Ted and Melissa got married in Wells, Maine today. It was beautiful fall day with lots of good color and a fun time. They had two well aged Transporters on hand for the Sat. morning ceremony. Without a doubt it was the MOST kid-friendly wedding and reception I have ever seen. And this was awesome since I was flying solo with my young daughter Madelyn. Ted gave me the go ahead to ...
