My engine has been running pretty bad and not even running long at times. Checked out the plugs and wires, got spark. checked the compression, #1 was at 90, #2 was at 90, #3 was at 88 and #4 was at 60. The engine is a 1915. Started calling arround for a quote to get a rebulid, so far prices range from $800 to $2500, depending on what is wrong. Im looking for reccomendations on shops in the San...

My winter project is going to be building a HD trans-axle. I wanted to use a Bus originally, but the only ones I've found were Vanagons that I wasnt entirely sure how much work it would be to convert. Rhinos are $250 and thats what I'd pay for a used Bus trans anyways. I'll still hunt for a cheap one, does all teh stock parts fit in a Rhino and does it require an adapter?

I am getting ready to assemble and install my 930 cv's and axles. Is there a thread or some instructions as to how to do this the correct way so I only do it once? I have searched, but have not found anything. Thanks for the help.

This is for my Manx Clone. Will I be disappointed if I buy the $150 Race Trim Seats instead of the $300.00 Beard or PRP Seats?

OK here's the deal.... We've decided to make the official SoCal Bajas Septemper run to the Monache Jeep Trail in the Kennedy Meadows area on September 27th-28th. This one will be a weekend trip, and some of us have even planned to play "Hooky" on Monday. We're going to camp at the Fish Creek Campground overflow area, and details will be forthcoming. For those of you who have ...

I just purchased what was supposed to be a 70 baja. I'm kind of skeptical on the year. Looks to have a ball joint front end with 4 bolt wheels, wide 5 swingaxle rear. Looks like it has a 68 or earlier dash. 1600Dp with generator. Where do I look for ID numbers so I can identify what I have? Its a great bug just needs a bit of TLC. Clutch and wiring harness mainly. Thanks all. Mike

I am going to build a hydrogen generator for my manx. run on water and gas combo. But was thinking it may be hard to tune with turbo. I have one for my truck and car now. It works so well on modern engines but not sure about non computer controled engines. Hay anyone done this to a VW here? _________________ Seabee turbo buggy build For vet's and Americans The RLAP story. ...

Hi yall. I have what i think is a berrien sand rail frame. Here is a pic of it: Anyhoo, i plan on cutting it up to extend it in to a four seater, and a few other modifications, so my question is, what kind of steel tubing do i need (as in the diameter, thickness, and grade or alloy #)? I don't know much about steel and that kind of stuff, all i know is that ya give me two pieces ...

A friend is giving me an old bug motor (not much history, but it runs), Im thinking about buying a warrior frame and building a rail. So what do I need to do, is there a good step by step and parts list? Can I pull this off for a few grand? Im going to buy How to "Build a Dune Buggy" by Earl Duty. Im pretty confident I can pull this off, Im an adult and dont have an unlimited budget, but...

Here's a video from our Big Bear run last weekend. You've got to turn the volume up on your computer to really appreciate this, so tell momma to go in the other room! For those of you that went on the run, I'll be mailing you a DVD of it, so you have a good quality video. Give me a few days. I'm going hunting, and leaving tonight, so if I don't respond to your emails, PM's, ...
