I can't imagine the pass side would be different. I don't think there is a need to measure those.

Bruce, 1/2 million wheels AND all the rest of the stockpile of waiting updated parts. VW's suppliers must have had some tremendous storage capacity!

Thank you Mr! i went and checked the dash hole.. it was slightly smaller because of the two layers of paint and primer.. after pushing the switch down at a 90degree angle against the dash it fit right in, not easy but it is a very nice and tight fit. also the hole was ~26mm , so nothing out of the ordinary. myth busted. there is only one semaphore switch diameter.

A WWII correct distributor?

The ad below is captioned as a WWII "Thing" distributor. Anyone have any thoughts? http://www.thesamba.com/vw/classifieds/detail.php?id=891802 The badge looks way to modern to be of 1940's vintage but I do get surprised every now and then. I don't argue the shielding thoughts as the thing looks near bullet proof but the era claimed makes me wonder.

Hey John, I measured 30 3/4" from the bulkhead, and 2 1/8" and 15 5/8" from the tunnel to the center of the studs. This was from an original chassis that has not been repaired.

IIRC one (bolts) is for 25HP and the other (screws) for 36HP. There was a discussion about this very thing in this forum recently Edited to correct info Last edited by nlorntson on Today 8:36 am; edited 2 times in total
