How to attach crochet edging to...
Published (2009-12-17 00:05:00)
I sew two cotton flannel pieces together for great receiving blankets. Then I use cotton crochet thread to make an edging. I also crochet an edge around nursery printed prefolded diapers for nice burp cloths. I make the holes for that first row of stitches with a long, sharp yarn needle that has a rather large eye. As soon as I pull the cloth off the needle's eye, I make the stitch into the hole using a rather thin steel crochet hook, a...

Need help with a Christmas...

That's a great suggestion...and I agree with you about proper care. I did end up buying him one from IKEA that I'm thinking he's not going to like. It has a sort of mohair type feel. I was feeling a bit sad because I was looking forward to the project. This gives me a bit of hope that I can do something and mail it to him. Thank you!

I bought this pattern. Everything was going along fine until I hit row 23. I don't have enough stitches to do all the repeats it wants me to do. If you can help me I would appreciate it. Thanks

I'd have to see the pattern. Is it done by graph or just written. If it's done with a graph you probably could. If it's just a written pattern --I don't think so.

The least expensive way would be to use a small awl to punch the holes. I bought mine at Joann's. I'm giving you a link to the product, but you can probably buy them at any fabric store. There is a great tool (and expensive) that I'd love to have, but can't make myself spend the money, since I would only use it infrequently. It's called an Edgerydoo. You can do a google search if you're ...

Linda, that looks like a perfect "man" blanket, LOL. I took a look at a couple of free patterns at LionBrand.com. There were a couple in particular that I remembered might help you out. This one: http://www.lionbrand.com/patterns/khs-diagonalBaby Blanket.html?noImages= , uses Homespun yarn (which is also a bulky yarn) and size 11 needles, so it would be comparable. The blanket is 36" square. You ...

I did a Google search for Simply knitting alan dart nutcracker and came up with this link. I've ordered things from the UK and they came faster than domestic! The 5.99 price is in English pounds, so it will be more in US dollars. I wonder if you can get just the pattern directly from Alan Dart. So sorry you have to deal with dial up. -Babka Here is a link that might be useful: Copy...
