"I put my foot down though when he wants to go out to dinner in January in shorts - not with this wife." So my guess is his "other wife" allows him to wear the shorts out to dinner in January? LOL ;) You know painting over wallpaper is something I never gave a thought to. Sure it could "seem" easier to some people wanting paint instead of the wallpaper that was currently there, but adding moisture over a...

Hi, nooooo, I don't like that combo either lol. The colors are fighting dramatically due to the totally different undertones....the top being VERY pinky it seems. Can you take some other shots of the surrounding areas you're talking about ....from sort of far back? That will certainly help! Also...would you rather keep the drapes or one of those colors? It seemed originally you really wanted those drapes...than said something about...

This one may be available too, it is 5x7 and it has a matching runner for $50. I'm still learning what size is the "right" size. This is what size I have now. (5x7)

From the colors you say you are already using, it sounds as if the couch is the odd element. Could you recover or slipcover it, so it would fit in better with all your black, white, and red? If you have pictures, that could help, too.

Have you checked into Konecto products? They stick to each other so it creates a floating floor. It seems very DIY. We're looking into that.

If you love it, I would say, yes, buy it. The price is great and chances are you will find getting furniture pretty easy since the colors are pretty basic and not hard to match/coordinate. Of course, bear in mind that for me, beautiful rugs are a weakness not unlike shoes for some-lol!

You'd be surprised. In the hands of an experienced paint person, you can get a great match. I wanted some inexpensive paint samples, so I took my BM paint chips to Sherwin Williams. He didn't have the formulas in the system already (sometimes they do), so he scanned them. He dabbed the paint on the chips and the color was so exact, I really had to turn the card to find the dab of paint. I'd ...

You have a very neutral kitchen so really anything would look good, just have to find what looks good to you. I didnt like any of the light colors, I prefer the first two colors you choose only because they are midtone, so they are richer looking to me but not the right colors. IMO you need more color in your kitchen, either through more accessories or what about in paint. You like the color...

I agree with Jant. You're going to have 3 almost equal colors. I think it might look very chopped up. But since it is already painted,I would at least put up the chair rail to see if it looks better to you.

IMHO they are too short, by an inch or so. I don't think they are hung too high though. If you cannot let down the hem, you might use rings at the top. They also look not quite full enough. What is your fullness ratio? I was taught that panels should always be at least 2x the width being covered (ex. 42" window = 84" panel) or a width and a half of fabric (ex. 54" fabric = 81" panel) ...

I was married straight out of college--Our first place (1989) was a fairly standard 2 bedroom/1 bath condo. DH had been living on his own for several years, but we wound up finding a "new" place about a month before our wedding. We always refer to that place as "the cave." It was on the ground floor and was actually more like a walkout basement. AWFUL light! We (I, really) obtained ...

Are you wondering if you sell your house will it be a problem if you have two-hole knobs? If so, I wouldn't worry. I have both in my kitchen and utility rooms, and I plan to stay here. If the future owners don't like it, it's their problem. :)
