my 1st set of custom orthotics made in 1982 which I still sometimes use are transparent hard plastic which you can see thru ,apparently they don't make those clear plastic footbeds anymore and the guys who did got cancer from the process My dad has some orthotics that are stainless steel (google feather spring) and he claimed they worked great in his steel toe work boots IMO you don't want a spongy soft footbed you want a hard...

wax also blocks UV light, which is far worse for a ski base than oxidation at normal temperatures

The Bibby absolutely charges, the soft nose and tail I am finding is a trademark to alot of Moments skis. Their wood cores have a ton of pop and are really stable....you only get tip dive if you can"t make a turn. The JJ's are nice but they aren't Bibby's

I don't have any boot advice, but based on my minimal experience with the lotus 120, it's very comptetent in variable and hard snow and clearly pimpin' in a few inches or more of freshies. Perhaps you should consider that before you go for the wailer although that also sounds like a super dopesauce snow slayer.

Yeah I got extended HC so I also got 340$ custom made's done by a sports med guy
I know I can't get an edge in without foot beds BUT I put one of each of the custom's & the sole's in my ski boots and at the end of the day I couldnt tell which was which without taking off the boots
you can heat mold them in the oven but for flat feet I wouldnt mold and you can grind that grey foam ...
