Possible ACL Allograft Tear

Thanks again man. Just got back from the doctor and its all good. MRI results were fine/normal. He said I may have stretched out the ligament but the knee is just a sprain and the swelling and pain should go away with a couple days. He performed the Lachman's test (sp?) and said he feels a solid endpoint. Phewwwww, feel like I dodged a bullet with this one!

That's a long time. I need another round. First day skiing crap tweaked my knee a bit and it's been iffy. I was denied coverage on my detached bicep and r/c injuries and haven't sued to get it done, cause it seems to be healing on it's own. I'd like to have the doc shoot it, but I have to much work that depends upon it being totally functional. I am usually in pain and wobbly for 10 days after prolozone in the knees.

yeah, i am kind of nervous about the prp hurting this long. a few days ago while putting on a light backpack i think i tweaked it a bit, causing it to flare up. they say the prp is 4 or more times the power of prolo, so hopefully that is why it still hurts and feels dead. he wanted to do prp on the other shoulder this past tues and i called and canceled since the left is still aching.

Update 2 weeks post-op
PT continues to use ultra sound to clear up bruising, still have some purple, but the lovely green and yellow is almost gone.
I also have a knee again as the swelling has retreated considerably.
I have added Glucosamine Chondroitin 1000mg to my regime, three time daily, with meals.
I am off crutches, no more Zimmer Splint. I can walk 'relatively' ...

a high ankle sprain will take several weeks longer than a normal ankle sprain to heal. The things you describe, like external rotation and dorsiflexion during walking down stairs makes sense for that injury.
If you truly have a high ankle sprain it could take anywhere from 3-6 weeks for it to be feeling 100%. If you have to ski, think about alpine....almost like being in a cast...
But I...

Dude went through this end of april it's the suck.
Even if your PT is smoking hot, cool, and supports and nurishes your brokedick unemployed ass the whole time .
Here is a hint though you don't need that shoulder for anything semester related unless your a jock. Ski the season, turn it down a notch, try not to digger into it. Mine was pretty "extensively" jacked from old injuries and a ...

I have a similar problem. I cratered my dirt bike into a ravine I did not see until too late. I shattered my hinged knee guard and took most of the impact on the top of the kneecap and my shoulder. This was about five weeks ago. My knee is not swollen any more but it feels stiff, kind of like it has fluid in it. Sometimes when I stand straight legged, that knee wants to buckle, mostly ...

Well, it seems I have done it this time! Went too big pre season and landed extremely bad. Fractured both of my tibial plateaus and tore my meniscus. I have been in a wheelie chair for about a month and 2 weeks...watching ski porn, healing up and praying I can ski this season.
Anyone out there ever been in this situation, or can offer some suggestions for healing quicker, or surgery ...

So being young and stupid I have had shoulder issues since high school, two confirmed dislocations the first with a labral tear (never went to the doc for the second) multiple seperations blah blah blah.
So lately have had really bad stability issues/loss of strength,ROM, finally got around to seeing an Ortho today. basically confirmed what i thought he would say. going to need surgery on ...

Ouch. I have FAI that I'm scheduled to have scoped in August. I put it off last fall so I wouldn't miss any skiing. But all I'm supposed to have done is the arthroscopy. I broke my hip in August 2005 and I've developed a bit of a bone spur on my femural head that exacerbates the cam deformity I already had (like you, it sounds).
Good luck.
