Hi Mate The Ultra sounds are fairly reliable, but keep an eye on it. What sort of size is it? Cheers Kiwi

I agree with the gentlemen above. This is definitely worth a prompt evaluation.

Sounds like it may be a varicocele, essentially a varisose vein in the testicle. It is described as feeling like a "bag of worms" if there are many. The ultrasound should have picked up any mass or cyst, so waiting a couple of months for a repeat and not poking at it sounds reasonable to me. If it is a varicocele it is generally left alone unless it causes discomfort.

Going by the description "small, hard lump," I recommend that you get it checked by a doctor.

One testicle being slightly larger than the other is perfectly normal... you probably have a foot a bit larger than the other too. I would stick with what Redlight wrote above and try to post the wording of the ultrasound report. TC has not been proven to be hereditary so your Grandfathers condition probably does not play a significant role.

Hi Stephen. This sounds like something that needs to be checked. Testicular cancer is one of a number of things that could be causing this. The description of a hard lump is somewhat suspicious. I'd recommend you register with a GP and get it checked with all haste.

So last night before bed i decided to check out what was hurting so bad, when i felt around i felt a pea sized shape on my top right side of my right testical. could this be cancer? i should also note that i smoke and when my gf kicked me 2 days ago it was not all that hard. she just kind of grazed them....

Matt, If this has not grown or caused you trouble in the last 18 months, it is more than likely unrelated to TC. That being said, it is a good thing you are getting it checked out. Please keep us in the loop.

Did you get a copy of the radiology report? My guess is that it is nothing and yes, messing with things can and will make them more sore. It could be a blood vessel but more likely would be something like a hydrocele. At any rate, get that report to help put your mind at ease.

Seems like you are getting the medical help that you need, and kudos on calling the doc back because you feel something is still wrong. You might be asked to have a painless ultrasound, a painless diagnostic exam which will help determine the health of the testicle. Best to you.

Hi Jimmy. The waiting is always so hard. Many radiologists will tell you straight away (while you're on the table) what they are seeing (at least in the UK). Although five days seems like a long time, with the weekend in is three working days. I guess you'll get the answer tomorrow, but if they procrastinate, it might be worth a visit to the doc's surgery in person. Hoping for good news...

Well just got the call from my doctor... GOOD NEWS!!!! looks like it is a hydrocele. Thank goodness, I am so relieved. Definitely learned a valuable life lesson, and I will never wait again if something unknown happens with my body. And I would like to complement the fact that Scott and the other mods at this site are a great service to this world!! I can't image a better place for ...

Hey there, Sorry you have to go through this nerve-wracking period but just remember the most important thing (which this forum helped me remember a few months ago when my 25yrold boyfriend was diagnosed): in case of cancer, testicular cancer is highly, highly highly curable. This forum will help you out a lot too; everyone is great. Now, I will try to answer some of your q's with my ...
