Despite my best efforts, we're still going to spend too much. My DH buys things behind my back at times (i.e., super nice blue ray player for his dad--I didn't know he had bought it until his dad said, "Thanks for the early present, son."). And, we're guilty of spending too much on toys for our little girl.

I've special ordered protein bars at the drugstore when I used to eat them a lot, like 5 years ago. That's about it. I've asked my list store for certain flavors of something but they've never been able to get them.

I actually didn't spend anything in that time period on groceries. Although, I did the day before!
So, savings of 100% and time spent with my family without interruptions by things like shopping--PRICELESS!

I love this part about the store's competition.
My Big Y (not a list store) gave out 5.00 mushy turkey coupons. However, when that particular mushy turkey goes on sale there, it's still up there in price.
BUT.... my local list store does accept competitor coupons and they did have that particular mushy turkey at a great mushy price, and then I got to use the Big Y coupon and Bonanza!

Well, it has changed over the years. However, it pretty much amounts to this--I don't! I went from planning my menu for the day, to planning for the week, and now I'm actually doing further than that. I'm aiming for a month, and right now I'm making 3 months worth of meals for the 1st 12 weeks next year (since we'll be having a baby and I have a ton going on at my other job during this time)....
