...the fact that you have a clipping mask after embedding the psd indicates you have a clipping path in photoshop that has been turned into a "true" clipping path via the paths palette in photoshop... ...remove the path from photoshop... ...or duplicate the path in the photoshop paths palette so it is no longer a "true" clipping mask, and then delete the original "true" clipping mask... ...a "true"...

the thing is, I just want them to be able to scale it to the size of the banner and print it. They shouldn't be able to alter or reuse the file ( or any part of it)

I know that there is an easy answer to this so I am sorry for asking. I've gone through Illustrator help, my books, and several websites. I am trying to duplicate a small circle in a equal number of steps along a circular path, so that I get a circle of small dots. I know I have done this before but for the life of me cannot remember which tool will do it. I've tried the blend tool, and the offset path tool. I truly appreciate any...

I remove the backgrounds from photos all the time in Photoshop and save it as a psd and place it in illustrator as a linked file but lately I have been having a small problem. I have been removing the background as I normally would and adding a outer glow to the layer style when I place the file as a linked file in illustrator the glow is not showing up actually if a edit the file after I have placed it and re-insert the background and update...

This is how I do it: position your small circle at the top of your circular path. Then while the small circle is selected, select the Rotate tool, press and hold the Option Key (for PC:ALT key) and then click in the center of the circular path. The Rotate dialog box comes up and then enter 360/X (x being the number of small circles to go around the path). Then click Copy. Then pres CMND D (or CTRL D) the number of times for each small circle...

I think I accidently did a key command in Illustrator so that when I click on an object I want to Free transform it doesn't give me the option- for example, I want to grab the corner of an object to resize it and the double-headed arrow doesn't show up. Can anyone PLEASE tell me how I can make this option visible again??? Thanks!

In Elements, if you rotate over an item on a layer, you get the little arrow to rotate the layer. Is this available in CS3? I can only figure you how to select the layer, and then go up to Edit -> Transform -> Rotate. How can I get to rotating in less steps.

Hi, hopefully this isn't a stupid question, but I'm having some trouble with it. I'm using Illustrator CS2, and every time I try to trim a part of an object that has an outline, the outline disappears. For example, I make a rectangle with a 1 pt stroke outline. I create a white object to use for trimming, select the white object and the rectangle together and click trim. It trims, but the ...

Everything has worked fine for several months and now this problem started to occur again! When I try to open a file I get this error message: Can't open the illustration. ID=-50. The file works fine until I add clipping masks to the illustration. Then when I close and try to open the file, it won't open. I only get the error message and a blank page. And like I said I´ve had this problem ...

I have a complex pattern I am trying to make in-repeat. The clipping mask (hexagon) makes everything disappear into an outline when I apply it. My guess is that there is a limit to the number of objects a clipping mask can be applied to. Is there some other way around this? All the objects I am trying to clip are grouped. This is too many objects to clip each on separately... it would be ...
