Mitchell, you have to tell this girl how you feel. You two have definitely been through a lot together and it sounds from what you said that you have genuine feelings for Ash. You are already berrating yourself for not doing things sooner, tearing at yourself for not saying this at that moment or doing that at this moment....it becomes too many regrets to hold inside, and if you don't say anything you will eventually let it completely...

Okay, women will OBVIOUSLY have a problem with these. Thats obvious. Get over it, women wear make-up to look more beautiful than she already is, hiding her imperfections. I can call that manipulation too. Guys make the mistake of thinking of this girl as this AMAZING, ONCE IN A LIFETIME GIRL. ( the women being godesses, "wow that girl is SO pretty, theres no way she will ever date me...) Shes not, shes one in about 3 billion out...

Basically, I know what I want in a guy. If there is some guy who represents that I'll say to myself, "Yeah, this guy is a possibility." and befriend him to find out more information on him. I don't find it particuarly shallow, but rather, directed in my thought towards the subject matter. :] Call it a euphemism, or what have you, but I don't think it's a bad thing to know what one wants... x
