Veronica Vista PE is a bootable windows disk, you can do many things with one including diagnostic tests. It will be of most interest to people that work with computers for their jobs - network admins, technicians etc...

I actually like zonealarm pro. It clogs the system if your TCP/IP stack is not clean. I have used in my laptop for 4 years and it runs great. I am just :'( that I did not get the offer on time

the PE will create a ram drive for temp files and it allows you to set up your network settings at bootup via manual or dhcp.

Wouldn't it be nice if...... ...Kaspersky made a tool that you could run from a bartpe / vistape / erd2007 or in safe mode on a PC that would remove viruses and spyware - and updated it several times a day - and it was free to use. http://devbuilds. kaspersky-labs.com/devbuilds/AVPT ool/ It must be nearly christmas time...

Potentially useful to people is uniblue's free ProcessQuickLink 2 which adds some links into the task manager next to processes in the process list. While this in itself doesn't fix anything it may stop you from killing processes which are actually useful when you are in process decimation mode (ie when looking for spyware and resource hogs). Hi there My other half's laptop has the virus WIN CIH. He does a virus check and it says it is clean. However, the next time he does a check, it say WIN CIH is there, which he cleans and then it reappears. Does anyone know how we can get rid of it permanently please. Thanks in advance. LB

Hi My AVG states: 'You are not protected! Please check the following components: Update manager: A .bin file is missing' This appears even after I have updated it. I'm not sure how this got missing, as it was fine yesterday. Can anyone help please. Thanks.
