Where did you find that product key? Where did you find that product key? You use the Office CD to install it. If the Office Pro came bundled with the Old computer as part of the package, then it is likely you bought an OEM version that expires with the PC. I would suggest you read the notifications carefully. I doubt they are
saying that your 2003 version expired. And even if it does, enter your
product key again.

Office 2007 UI incompatibility (with Office 2003) is driving us to reverse
our deployment of Office 2007. User frustration, loss of productivity CANNOT
be rectified with training -- the UI requies too many mode changes to get
anything done. If MS does not add a compatibiliy mode to the UI, I doubt
we'll ever re-deploy.

I was plagued with this problem under Vista. I just upgraded to Windows 7 (Home Premium) and uninstalled the compatibility pack, downloaded it again from Microsoft, and reinstalled it. That seemed to fix it! I can now read docx files in Office XP (just as I used to be able to under Windows XP). The files are a bit slow to convert, but they do open.

I am downloading this version of Office to trial it while taking a class. I
already have the 2003 version and I'm not sure I will purchase the full 2007
package once my trial is over. If I uninstall the program once my trial is
over, will my pre-existing Office (2003) be available the same way it was

I have Office H &S 2007 installed on 2 of 3 computers. I am allowed 3, I
know.
I am going to buy/purchase a new computer and do not wish to use the last
activation. I wish to activate by phone after loading the program.
(Also, I may buy/purchase another computer in the future and this would
