The drivers are available directly from Creative. Have you tested the speakers on another source to verify they are operational? Test a known good set of speakers/head phones on the ouput of the sound card. Is the Creative card listed in Device Manager? If not completely remove the card from the PC, boot into Windows and remove the drivers/software using Add and Remove programs, shut down. Then reinstall the card into the PC and boot into...

almost the same, but I don't have the line in/mic in option, just audio input and digital input... and no microphone on top, just line ins and colored jacks and when I select the stereo mix it records the music on my comp full sound, the windows recorder jumps like a mofo and records the full sound from the speakers, but absolutely none from me and my voice

A yellow ! is an indication the drivers are not installed or the device is not responding/operating normally. Uninstall all of the audio drivers/software using Add and Remove programs, reboot, and then install the audio drivers. Ensure you are using the correct drivers for your OS.

The only drivers needed are the audio chipset drivers. As the mic doesn't work on two PC's, it sounds like a bad mic.

The only thing that comes to mind is to Add and Remove programs to uninstall all audio drivers/software, reboot, then reinstall the drivers/software. Aside from that, it sounds like the volume on those channels is lowered or the card is failing.

Is "stereo mix" like a checkbox to play a two channel stereo audio file in one channel audio? I assume it must be part of the HD audio package. By any chance is it a blue coloured control window, where you can change everything from graphic equaliser settings to echo?

The best solution is a good driver Creative says "Live! Series / Earlier PCI releases / All ISA releases No Development Planned " So basically my sound blaster live 24 bit sound card has no good vista drivers causing the bass channels being spread through the frotn left and right My computer is eligible for windows 7 upgrade and creative says they have my drivers for 7 so wish me...

It could be associated with whatever app or codec is used. So you could try updating/reinstalling Flash for example. However, the Windows startup greeting is a wav file.
