Your problem certainly ponts to RAM incompatibility. The best RAM for OEM PC's is Crucial.

What antivirus is installed? Quote: making this noise almost EVERY TIME I would turn it on. It stopped happening after PC turned on and everything loaded. Now, just today, I get a REALLY loud noise when I turn my PC on. Kinda reminds me on a jet taking off.. This is either a faulty/dirty heat sink fan or a case fan. You need to remove the side before startup to diagnose.

Any way to fix corrup RAM?

All we actually need to know is what cpu you have, what power supply you have (can find the info on a sticker on the psu itself, what hard drives you have, what ram you have. but I can see that it's a HP pavillion. If memtest86 has said your ram is ok then I highly doubt your ram is the issue. This sounds to me like it's either a power supply problem or an overheating problem and HPs and other prebuilt machines like these do tend to...

I believe both use standard laptop SODIMMs, so they should be physically compatible. However, you will have to see if the laptop/netbook manufacturer lists compatible modules to be 100% sure.

All the legs on the heatsink/fan are firmly snapped onto the mobo over the cpu. It's going nowhere. I only have two slots filled now with two 2GB sets so 4GB in at the moment.

Here is what Gateway says about your motherboard's RAM:
Quote:
Two DDR2 800/667/533 MHz SDRAM slots
Support up to 2 GB system memory
So you can use any DDR2 RAM up to 800MHz. If you use both DDR2 400 and a higher speed DDR2 it will default to the lower speed. I cannot guarantee compatibility, but it should be.

It's possible the MB just doesn't like that memory. Ensure the BIOS is up to date, aside from that, try a different brand.

Best solution, go to Crucial's site and check what RAM is compatible with your unit.

I doubt it. Gaming is more dependent on the GPU. What OS are you using? Vista and 7 can benefit more from over 2GB than XP.

The amount of rails is not really an issue. I use Seasonic PSU's and they use multiple rails. The Corsiar 650 will be fine for the 5770.
The 750W Corsair is only about $18 higher.
I prefer Sapphire & Powercolor for ATI chipped GPU's.

Running mismatched ram can cause some issues, first all the ram will run at the lowest speed, if the rated voltage and timings on the sticks are not the same at the specified speed it can lead to BSOD's Also filling all 4 slots can lead to voltage issues (NB needs more voltage to run the ram, the higher voltage can cause the NB to run hot)
Start by just using the 2 new sticks in A1, B1 make...

When you run an underpowered power supply for a long period of time, you can actually harm the video card, memory, motherboard, etc. and the list goes on. I would recommend you get something like the Corsair or Seasonic 650 to run this card and sell that one on Ebay where someone doesn't have the power needs you do to pull this card.

While you have a power supply that is big enough, the model and brand name have had some real issues with these units. That model is simply not a very good supply and not the highest quality. Adding that to the age of the supply and you have real concern.
Therefore, I suspect that as the problem child. Do you know someone who has another supply you can try in there?

Check in the DVDFab temp files and empty all old files. Try using DVDFab (the VSO burning engine does a great job) to make the burn.

Check the Voltages 12v, 5v, 3.3v and temps CPU and Chipset(motherboard) in the Bios on the PC health page.
Then boot into windows use a program like Sensor View Pro to recheck the voltages and Temps including the GPU this time during game play,
Post back with your readings.

Recently I've had problems with my PSU and I want to buy a new one.
I just need to know something first:
Will every PSU fit my computer's motherboard and the other components
(I mean will it fit physically)? or do I need to check if the PSU i want (Corsair CMPSU-650TXEU 650W) fits well with my motherboard (GIGABYTE EP43-DS3L)?
