You could be right about the limited functionality. http://images.autodesk.com/adsk/file...r_2010_faq.pdf seems to suggest the plain version doesn't have stress analysis (see 3.) As for upgrade or service pack, you could always ask them over the phone 800-578-3375, ext. 103 Otherwise, I have never used autodesk, but I searched for tutorials and it seems to show the stress feature is under something called part feature menu?...

thank you for your quick response. the strange thing is tho, even tho my software is the student edition it still says it is Inventor 2010 proffessional , and as far as i know the only real difference should be that anything i print off will be clearly stated as being from a student edition, this just stops people using it in industry. it has all the tutorials within the software for stress analysis but when i try and follow them the icons it...

It's possible that the installation is faulty. If it happens in every image then it's a program error.. I would uninstall everything, clean your computer with a good registry cleaner and do a clean install.

Open Photoshop and go to File > New. Change the 'Background Contents' dropdown option from White to Transparent. Paste your image into this new document as a new layer. Select the Magic Wand tool and set the Tolerance level to 1 or 2 . This will make the tool select only colours that are exactly the same as the point where you click with the wand. Higher tolerance levels will select ...

Have you tried these tools in a different document? I have seen it happen where funky things happen in one particular document and I have made a new document, dragged all the layers from the previous document into the new document and all the tools function again. Don't know why that happens, but you might give that a try.

flv files are not real media files. they're flash video files. and i don't think there's any straightforward way to import them into movie maker (in one step at least). You'll likely need to make an intermediate conversion. The partially lossless way would be via flvextract ( http://moitah.net ) (needs .net framework 2.0). That'll losslessly rip the video stream into AVI. As for the audio ...

One thing you can try is export it normally, then find the file and manually change the file type, if you don't know how to do this, ensure that Show File Extensions in Folder Options is enabled, rename the file's extension and press enter.

Beware of gspot reporting "codec installed". I think that's one of the program's achille's heels. If I recall from the demo version of Vegas, it had a folder with a lot of plugins, so that led me to conclude Vegas is highly dependent upon plug-ins to decode anything. What format audio are you working with?

No matter what's out there, people will find a flaw. Whether they recieved a defective device, they dropped or otherwise abused the device prior to first use, they used the device incorrectly, or they simply failed to read the manual, they will simply assume the device is at fault. With on-line reviews, there is no way to verify what a specific user's situation was. If you find a model with...
