It's gone. Found a few threads here and there about people noticing the same thing. It's not on Windows Update and its not under Hidden Updates, for those that hid it.. I hope this doesn't mean they are working on a way to sneak it into some other update without telling anyone.. Windows Defender anyone?

The memory on my laptop is shit to be honest but anyway I have a folder on my 'C' Drive and it is called 'Windows' and it takes up 16GB and it is really pissing me off big time as it makes my laptop really slow when I go on the internet etc. Does anybody know what this folder is or could anybody suggest anything? Which free antivirus/internet security should I use? I am currently using the free version of Avast Antivirus 5.0. I used the previous free version of Avast and which seemed good to me. But Barclays are offering Kaspersky Internet Security 2010 for free for their online customers. The Kaspersky Internet Security 2010 seems to offer more protection than the free Avast antivirus. Is it true that to reliably detect any malware esp. rootkits that one needs to boot into safe mode and then run Norton or McAfee (or whatever) on the C: drive? Or conversely, if that comes up clean there is not malware installed?
