I thought I'd go ahead and uninstall everything including MSXML 4.0, MSXML 4.0 Hotfix and MSXML 6.0 and I backed up and deleted the 'Products' registry key prior to installing. The installation got all the way to the end and gave the same error before - "Could not install..." Luc, Vidhya had asked you to post the contents of errorlog and not masterlog.ldf. Masterlog.ldf is a database log file of master database. The error in your case is that the SQL Service account under which your SQL Server is running does NOT have modify permissions to access the path, C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.1\MSSQL directories. Eventhough your ID has permission to the above directory its the SQL Service account that needs...

From my past experience I know of one issue (technically it is an issue with Windows Server 2003 x64, but since it is required for SQL Server 2005 x64 it is relevant): 1) There are no Foxpro ODBC drivers for Windows Server 2003 x64, so whatever is using it (to create and access .DFB files) still has to run on 32-bit OS Anyone cares to share about other similar issues?...

Is there any 'work around' for scheduling jobs or is Agent the only possibility? We have a mix of clients on full SQL Server and on Express. There are some jobs (in the form of stored procs) that we would like to be able to schedule for all of our clients.
