Robert,   Many thanks for your reply.   Your points are well taken regarding possibility of nulls - however, both IDN and Date1 are part of a primary key and thus cannot be null. My real goal is to be able to successfully invoke from a report project a custom assembly that accesses an SQL Server database.   I already tried commenting every thing in Function1 and just return a constant and the the code did work. My suspicion is that...

There is a group on one of our report, it requires that separate group appears on separate page. So I set Page Break At End for my Group. It looks perfect on the reporting service web site.   But when I export to PDF, the different group does show on separate page, the only issue is the Grand Total field shows on a separate page by itself. Which makes sense since Page Break At ...

SQL Server 2008 released over three months ago.  Still no report viewer control which is capable of rendering 2008 RDLC files.   When is an updated WebForms.ReportViewer coming?  One that doesn't choke when it sees a report file built in 2008?   It's absolutely amazing to me that Microsoft would not have this ready with the SQL 2008 release.  What exactly am I supposed to do with ...

I have created a report in SSRS 2008 that contains a tablix that uses the stepped report feature.  I have three levels of grouping like this: Level1 Level2 Level3   I have created a total row for Level1 and Level3 but have not been able to create one for the Level2.  Each time I try to add the total line, it creates it for Level1.  If you look at the left side of ...

So I spent a week putting together an interface for users to pick and choose columns and save the metadata. Then I made these fantastic dynamic queries with all these pivots to generate the reports and now I need to be able to do something as simple as set column width at runtime because I have no idea what column will end up where since its all user configurable through the UI. Anyways, looks...

Renaming a RDL file to RDLC will not change the schema mismatch between the 2005 and 2008. This conversion will not be possible now.   According to one nearer to the software than myself, "The current target date for a control that can read the 2008 RDL schema is currently the first calendar quarter of 2009.  These dates can and are subject to change."   Should you attempt to ...
