Hmmm...that's definitely odd, then.  If that account has the permissions to add a computer account to the domain (as is demonstrated by you being able to add it manually) then it SHOULD have the ability to do this same thing from in the TS.

I tried replicating everything, and it made a difference, however, not to the particular model that I was thinking of! The Optiplex 760 still constantly reboots, and I managed to check the log files, it seems to be hunting for ACPI devices and failing to locate the drivers. I'll pick it up tomorrow, but I'm still not sure why its not working.

You could edit sysprep.inf in your WIM, or re cut from MDT as stated in Michaels post. Also check that yuour old laptops supported ACPI - you will know what HAL was used in that case. I would also check your mass storage drivers - are you getting a 7B BSOD when it reboots?

This site helped me out some.  It goes through all the steps you need, including setting up the server if you have not done so already.  He sets up a PXE install, however you can substitute a different method if you like.   http://exchangeserverinfo.com/2008/10/16/windows-xp-with-sp2-deployment-osd-through-sccm--zeero-touch-installation-method.aspx   Hope this gives you some direction. Hello,   I am trying to use the SCCM disk that we have used in the past on the same machine (Latitude D630) for Windows XP SP2 and SP3 and Vista Enterprise and Vista Small Business.  All of those machines the disk I have been using has worked fine.  Now we have been trying to make a image of Vista Ultimate with no SP and with SP 1.  When i try running the disk we have it gets to "Running ...

I have a task sequence that is working find on the majority of machines.   We have just purchased some HP DC7800 machines, and after adding the drivers to SCCM I have tried a deployment.  It seems to run through fine, but when it completes very few drivers have been installed and it hasn't joined the domain.   It has installed the network driver, and the machine has picked ...

It's possible this question should have been in the SDK section, but anyway, here it goes..   I'm assigning variables to Collections and Computer objects prior to OS Deployment and this works fine.   However, it seems like unnecesarry work to assign the variables to the individual computer objects every time, as these are the same. Variables like OSDAdapter0IPAddressList, ...

So i went through the process of applying an image to a laptop we have.  I used PXE, and selected the correct task sequence.  It looked like everything worked just fine, I watched it as it started to restart and now the laptop is at black screen with a Solid White Line at the bottom of the screen.   So I cleared the last PXE advertisement, and tried again with the same results. ...

I have had this happen on 2 different images. Basically I'll use computer association to import a PC using it's MAC address into a collection. I assign a task sequence to the collection just like I've done before. When I boot the PC to PXE it starts and loads Windows PE. It gets to Preparing Network Connections and then reboots before it goes to the next step of setting up the partition. Had ...

I'm having a quite strange behavior when deploying a Windows XP image. I have created this image on Dell D610 ACPI Uniprocessor PC I used John's Methord of HAL Updation. http://www.myitforum.com/articles/47/view.asp?id=8 997 When i deploy this it goes off well but then after the reboot it  fails for stop error 7B when it first time tries to boot to Windows. I have SCCM 2005 SP1 deployed in mixed mode.   I have been trying to set up operating system deployment, but I've run into a big problem. I can't create task media, either from the Site server itself, or from the Configmgr console on my workstation. Furthermore, I tried deploying an OS to a box that already had an OS and a client installed (so no task media needed), and it failed ...

Hey! I am in the process of trying to create an XP (SP3) image that will work on all of our hardware. I created a reference build using VMWare (also tried with MS Virtual PC), and when I deploy it to any physical system, it gets as far as copying the WIM file, rebooting, then next boot up it gets as far as mup.sys and reboots again. It just keeps on looping from here onwards? Has anyone come...

Hi, If SCM 2007 + WDS are on one server, and DHCP is on a different server, both are win2008 btw, are there any special DHCP options that need to be configured on the remote DHCP server? e.g. Does option 60 need to be the name of the SCCM / WDS server? Thanks, Ward

Everyone,   Sorry if this has been answered before, but I'm looking to add SCCM OSD functionality to an environment with an existing RIS installation. RIS is currently used only to build servers, from what I understand, and the SCCM OSD environment will be for desktops only. The subnets that RIS and SCCM will need to be used on overlap, unfortunately. This RIS installation is on totally ...
