Have you updated to latest game patch? Drivers updated? Do other games work fine? When you say put on AS5 did you clean off the old thermal paste and apply a small dab in the middle of the cpu/gpu? Use this to see your temps. CPUID

An aged old Windows issue is that the network adaptor has a power saver feature that is enabled by default. Turning that feature off in device manager is known to fix many an issue

A second 1TB is only about $85. My storage system is located in my server, where I have two drives, of which one is just to backup the 1st drive. In addition, each night a PC copies changed files to a 3rd drive over the network.

Published (2009-11-21 19:24:00)
Hi, and WELCOME TO TECHIMO - from the Folding@Home Team [#111]...! What lights, if any, are you getting on the monitor/screen..? If it has any lights (normally green, blue or orange) then the issue will be between the computer and the monitor, if there aren't any lights/LEDs lit up on the screen, then it seems like the monitor isn't getting any power... Let us know how it is, so that we can help you to fix it..!

You might have a problem. Anyway you can get a different PSU and try that if it works then the power supply that was in it was bad.

nope, you'll need to get a new card, shader support is hardware bound. just about anything from the Radeon x1xxx series up (example Radeon 1900/1950 series, or the more current Radeon HD series (HD 2000, 3000, 4000 or the latest 5000 series) Or Geforce 6, 7, 8, 9 or GTX series cards should be Shader 3.0 compatible. is your card an AGP card or PCI Express?

Yeah, the data isn't THAT important, but it would be nice to have it. You're right zepper, I didn't mention any noise, but the last time I hooked it up and it spun up, I heard a "thunk" Probably a head crash during the defrag when it tried to write to an area that it hadn't before so it was just a matter of time Thanks to all who posted. I'm working on my MSCE certs, so I have a file server setup....

If one was 800x600 and the new one is 800x600, it shouldn't matter at all. The resolution is more important than the screen size in the case you're describing.

That's not something I've ever seen in a DLP. I'd recommend having it diagnosed and repaired by a professional in this case.

That's a good question. You can't exactly plug in a SATA power cable incorrectly. I'd assume a manufacturing defect in the DVD drive. Perhaps a short circuit.

Your diagram shows both LEDs in the + wire common to both fans. Do the LEDs have their own ground or are they wired in a series? How do you know the fan controler is working?

Does your PS have multiple rails? If it does, is one rail enough, or are you using an adapter to combined 2 rails? If you are using the adapter, are you connecting it to 2 rails with enough combined power? Seems to me, that card needs 30 or 32 amps of 12v power. What power supplies? specs or link. Welcome to TechIMO! Edit: This says it is pretty low power...

The only 'iffy' detail is whether or not the 400 watt power supply unit (PSU) can meet the demands of the 9800GT. IMO it will be close, but will probably work. The motherboard has an available PCI express 16x slot for the card. IMO the best route for a RAM upgrade would be a 2x2GB kit of PC2-6400. You can never be sure how well a motherboard will react to running 4 ...

If you are comfortable removing the CMOS battery off of the motherboard, then i would suggest removing it and insert it back and turn your computer back on . now the slowing amber light should now be rapidly blinking.. just give it a push and wait untill it starts... remember this is a temporary fix.. if this solves your problem then it is a MB failure .. In my case Dell ...
