Oh.. smart man.. I thought you'd throw your wolfy under there. But I guess that's a smart move testing it out first. You've got me itching to OC again..

Since this is my first attempt going sub-ambient, I decided to start with some old hardware. It's an old s478 P4 3.4GHz Prescott on an Abit AI7 mobo on the bench now. If I don't blow it up I'll be moving on to my C2D E8600 on an Asus Maximus Formula SE mobo. That Prescott is 17x200 stock, so I need 295MHz FSB for that 5.0GHz goal. Wish me luck!

I'd make sure the PSU has at least 25A on +12V or more to run any of those cards, at least for the 9600GT, the other two, I'd make sure there's at least 30A. and that the PSU is a Quality Brand, not a generic one.

Thanks guys, it's up and running, smoothest build yet. I tried to unlock the 4th core and it works ! I got lucky. It's so fast I'm sticking with the stock fan and no overclocking needed.

i thought so, i recognised the grille in the foreground of the HDD and PSU pic, and the I/O panel looked familiar, had a few of them pavilion towers in the past and your right there is no room in them at all lol but to be fair those sort of towers are aimed at the user only market if you see what i mean

TBH 30 ppl probably looked at this thinking what I'm thinking right now, why on earth do you need 5 extra fans and an additional psu to cool this thing.

on the 5770, if DX11 matters to you then I'd grab it, otherwise if DX10 is fine for now (will be a while before there is a sizable list of DX11 games out, since DX11 is new with Win7), then a Radeon 4870 or 4890 will still be better performing than the 5770 (similar tech specs, but the 4800's have 256bit Memory bus vs the 5770's 128-bit), and the PSU you have picked out will...

Can you just use the chasis fan header? Did the CPU cooler header work before you got this new cooler? If so, there is no reason why it shouldn't still be working.

I cannot believe that 30 people looked at this and I got no reply. Well, nevermind, I just took the 12V power supply and ran them parallel to both fans and added the switch. the thing works great. I mounted them onto a vent grate and I am going to mount that onto a plexiglass panel for the side. these things are like leaf blowers. I love it. I had 2 smaller fans blowing in, ...

Not going to happen. that system is just too old. if you can spend $600 on a new system, then that is realistic to get something that can put most modern games on mid settings. But i dont suggest getting your hopes up about that system for new games.
