All TVs marked as HD compliant has to support AT LEAST 720p and 1080i. 1080i does not mean that the television has to have 1080 horizontal lines. A TV can be 1080i compliant with only 720 horizontal lines. Because of the way an interlaced signal works, 1080i stores the same amount of information as a 540p signal. The reason the Blueray shows a 1080i signal is because the Blue-ray player automatically detects that the television is not 1080p...

Check the +12V Amp rating on the powersupply, should be on the sticker on the PSU in the case, if it has two +12V list them both, and if it lists the combined +12V Wattage, list that as well. most likely the PSU isn't up to the task, but sometimes its hard to say for sure. assuming the PSU in the case is a standard ATX design, and it looks like it, but hard to tell from the Service manual on Dell's site, Documentation but this PSU...

sorry my bad, my current card is an EVGA 9800 gtx 512 mb thanks for the heads up, I've updated my bios before, this is my 3rd mobo i've owned. the first one i used a program running off of windows, it worked fine, the second mobo came with a program to update the bios and i bricked my board (woo hoo) this one... i haven't tried to update the bios yet, and was wondering what method would be the best and safest. Thing is, if you're wall mounting a set, it's a lot less work to run a single power outlet to the back of the TV than it is to run the power, cable, and multiple A/V connectors from your equipment, through the wall, to plates behind the TV. Trust me on this, I've done it more than once. Once in a rock face wall. I've had better days.

Thanks for explaining, most appreciated. Nope fills the screen completely, and when i run a film with BS Player i can use the 16:9 aspect ratio instead of 4:3 to fill the screen which doesn't stretch the picture.

Best way (to my beliefs) would be to open the case and peek inside. These are the different types http://www.darkwire.com.au/assets/im...press-card.jpg or you can look at what you posted

Just an FYI giving a generic link and saying 3rd card down doesn't work. Newegg's site updates freq. so we might not get the right 3rd card. Providing the direct link is best. Yes if it says "the latest bios" its a pretty literal translation meaning you will need to install the latest bios. The board wasn't initially intended to run the newer AM3 chips thus the need for the update.

Build looks good.... not heard anything bad about those ripjaws... but noticed they are one of the cheapest DDR modules (with heatsinks and good timings) at the moment... With $150 you will be looking at the Nvidia GTS250 or Ati 5750 (they perform pretty similar) the 5750 however supports DX11 (the 250 only supports DX10). Also you might want to look at a mobo without ...

Careful of the 1GB versions on those cards, they typically use slower memory than the originals (and are generally useless). You will definitely need to upgrade the power supply.

If they have back stock of GX2's, then most likely you'll get one of those. If not, they normally send you something of equivalent performance. My guess is probably something like a GTX275 or GTX280 if they still have some of those around. If they do send you back a GX2, make sure you still have your full warranty, and it's not a "refurbished" model. ...

Is it running stable with the fan up at 100% ? i did a custom bios on mine, i OC'd it to 725/1512 and 1215 and it runs very cool. i did drop my voltage quite a bit to 1.06 from 1.15 and adjusted the fan to reach full ramp up by 70 deg instead of 100 deg which is default. if tweaking the bios isn't for you, you can use one of the tweak programs to crank the fan up ...

You could try to find the manual for your particular model on the HP website. I have never not found one for a machine I needed to work on and they are quite good about instructions on how to disassemble and reassemble the machine. It will also tell you exactly what slots the motherboard has. If you're brave, you can open up the case and look at the physical slots. ...

Did you remove the old drivers first? If not then remove all video drivers installed, grab the latest drivers from nVidia's website, and then install those.
