John - bubba - use your imagination.... Dell for example...They ship MILLIONS of pcs 24/7/365 and very seldom have an issue. Ya stick in a box so it doesn't bounce around and ya put an address and some postage and you ship it..... When in doubt pay one of the little shipping stores like Fed X or DHL they have all over every city with more then 100 people living in it.

oh jesus, not these tards again... we just had some spammers for that site the other day, no links, but you can tell by the way they posted, did a google search for the one persons name, and sure enough spam linkage on other sites... I suspect the one above their post is spam too, since its for a shipping courier and not for an actual online website that ships to other countries. they just provide a list of online retailers that use their...

Yea I like the Intel and that Gigabyte board, but they are DDR3, and like I said. If I am to buy a new PSU, Mobo and RAM, hell I might as well get a whole new computer. And I dont have the money for that right now Pretty much I'm looking for a board that wont require me to get a new PSU or RAM, that is rock-solid and has tremendous reviews. Im not going to use that ZALMAN cpu cooler beacuse 1) Its way too F'in loud (cant lower the...

Yup, you can't use just any p'nuts - there are antistatic ones usually other than white in color. Also it takes quite a lot - if you don't have garbage bags full of the things kicking around like I do - then may be difficult to scrounge. Also may put pressure on things one doesn't want pressed like memory modules... .bh.

Sortof the same topic, I was reading about all the cages and modules in the 902, and I don't understand it well enough to know: If I go for multiple HDDs, how many can the 902 actually hold (I was thinking 3), if I would also like to put in another 92mm fan?

Well, from the looks of it, seems like a pretty decent setup. But, from what I have read and have seen, AlienWare is way over priced for what you get. If he has the knowledge ( it seems both of you are on here ), and I'll assume he does, why not get the parts and build one together. Save some money and treat yourselves to a nice night out.

What I do know is that thousands of cooler back plates get installed all the time. I just did my first actually on my new i7 build. All I can say is try to be a bit more careful, and maybe you don't need a liquid cooling system?

shutdown if your not going to use it for a while, sleep if your not gonna use it for a few hours. other than that it doesn't really matter.

No, 6 GB of RAM should be more than enough. The speed of the memory is most important when overclocking, not the actual amount.

Ship it with insurance and a tracking number. Good sturdy box with foam covering the corner.
I recommend not shipping overseas if you are in America.

Totally unacceptable IMHO. I will have 2nd thoughts about ever doing business again with Newegg....

Couple of thoughts.
I just got the same mobo and cpu, and they've been awesome so far. Just got my new cooler yesterday so I plan on figuring out how fast that 920 will go later today.
Hard drives. I would might recommend the SSD versus the raptor. Maybe someone else has some thoughts here, but I can see at least one 128gb ssd for less than $300 on newegg.
Would also ...

Hi and welcome...
Definately change that power supply.... You want a good quality unit. Newegg.ca - OCZ StealthXStream OCZ500SXS 500W ATX12V / EPS12V Active PFC Power Supply - Power Supplies

Unsure about PSU Specs
Howdy guys, haven't been here in a looong time. Well I'm building a pc again. I am mostly confused by the different standards there seems to be for PSUs, like ATX (I get this one) and now EPS12V and ATX12V 2.2. They seem to have differing amps for the voltages I pay little attention to, like 3.3v and 5v. I just want to make sure I ...
