I took the motor out of a 65 Wildcat 4 door. I think the body and frame are still at a friend of mine. He would sell it cheap if it is and it would fit. It was solid as a rock and low miles..no motor or trans..problem is we are in north Georgia

What are you trying to do? they are tough engines. You are more likely to break something in the drive train than the engine.

I have already checked the brakes and rebuilt them. Any body think maybe it has something to do with the enclosed drive line?

I had a look at the 3 spd buick tranny, and the problem with changing to a floor shift is the way the two shift levers interact with each other. It is a very unusual pattern. It would be nice to find someone who has successfully built a floor shifter for it, maybe using some of the linkage salvaged from the column shifter. The easy way is to find a three speed linkage from a buick motor installation from an early Chev pickup.. Mmmm... Maybe...

I have a 1947 46S and a 1994 Raodmaster. I want to clip the '94 front & rear chassis and put them under the '47. Is there any specific point where I should make the cuts in the frames. The '47 has a 121" WB and the '94 Roadmaster has a 116" WB. If anyone has done this, pictures how they made the frames join wiold be appreciated. Actually, guidance of any kind would be appreciated.

One of the problems could be that the original paint code is for laquer paint, and you're trying to reproduce it in modern urethane, which could make the pigments a little different. Also, with the modern urethane, there could also be variance colors to it as well. Meaning: one paint code, but 20 differnt shades. Some will be too orange, some too purple, too metallic, etc.

Matt, the PB fitting can be found at a good auto parts store. It's just a 90 elbow, 1/8" pipe thread by 3/8" inverted flare. Made by Weatherhead, or Brass-tite.
The fitting on the carb's choke housing runs to a tube on the exhaust manifold. It just slides into the manifold, doesn't have to be tight. The other end of the tube in the ex manifold should have a line running to the top of the carb....

as far as I have heard, nobody is making a floor shifter for that type of trans [selector type]. Look here on the search button under 'floor shifters' or any titles about shifters and transmissions. Much has been written about this subject in several websites, so you will get a lot of info. I have a 5 speed selector type floorshift out of a japanese import,[cable shifter, smooth] which I am going...

The 455 will fit, but several things are different. Motor mounts will need to be changed on the frame and mounted in different holes. Are you going to change the transmission? If you put in a TH400, then the crossmember will need to move. All of the mountings holes are in place, just have to move it all around.
This should be helpful.

If you have the full wheel covers check the center plastic for loosness. It sounds silly, but I had one that drove me nuts trying to troubleshoot a front wheel noise until I found the plastic piece rattling around in there.
