I'd reccomend replacing the engine mounts while you have the engine out. The rubber in them breaks down overtime, I had to do this on my 98. The difference was amazing, and this 93 Metro I'm rolling around in for the winter, is in desperate need of new mounts... It seems to be something many people skip, along with the strut tower mounts... The Metro has newish struts, and the mounts are factory original...

I see 120 for the separate hub and drum, 74 for the more common bearings are right in the drum type. That's from a 98 FSM.

I posted this over at the geoforum site and thought that I'd share this for those of you who don't frequent that site. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________ Finally! Here it is. And without further ado: Some reference shots first. 1. Disconnect and pull the battery. The following doesn't have to be done in any specific order, as long as they are all done. 2....

Yes, our cars have 2 bearings per wheel. For the sake of completeness, perhaps we should mention rotor replacement.
While you have the hub out of the car,
Get a new rotor:
And you can easily attach it:
Then you can use a 1 1/4 inch socket to tap it back together:
Leaving you with this final assembly. Make sure it spins quietly....

Just a suggestion - turn the engine over until the timing marks line upbefore you remove the tensioner and the timing belt.

The lifters have, if I recall, about 3mm of hydraulic preload.
Cultus cams only have .5mm more lift, and stock duration.
IMO, they are not worth the effort, unless you can get them for free.
Get a good profile, if you're having some custom ground.
I have used up to 10mm lift with no problems.
I haven't gone further than this.

What about the foam tape left after I pulled the rubber strips off the sides of my Metro? Will the eraser take that stuff off?
I got the pinstripes off with just a hairdryer. The temp was very critical. Too cool and they would just break, too warm and they would stretch. Get the temp right, and they peeled right off. _________________ 1994 Geo Metro - SOHC 1.3 swap
