So, this is embarrassing. I recently worked on a short film, sort of a dark comedy parody of It's A Wonderful Life , and was told by the director to write "the most annoying Christmas song ever." I came up with "Jesus' Birthday," which is "The Twelve Days of Christmas" re-imagined as an artless country tune that just lists a bunch of completely stupid gifts for You Know Who. It...

So yeah, that CD sounds awesome. Very diverse, the 4 or 5th song could have been a Beck song, it had that lyrically feel. If I get around to it I will post it here for sure. Keep up the good work.

In The Score: I'd add more bottom to the bass, do some work on the snare. Maybe gate it and check the phase between it and the overheads. Add high end to the vocals. Wreched Men: Try add some clarity to the guitar. It doesn't stand out enough.

Another adventure in recording is finally up - Week 15 is a song that I wrote on piano while at my sister's house in Denver - I recorded it minutes before I had to leave to catch my flight home! I had the occasion to check out running Reaper straight off of a thumb drive while out there. It totally works! I love that program.

Oh, and are you saying I'm a douche because I said both "cool song" and "I like it a lot"? That's not very nice.

in push the attack the vocals over power everything. During the choruses it completely masks the drums. and in the rest drums are just a little quite for my taste. but it sounds good. good start. keep it up

Back in '06 I was on the beta test team for the Moog Little Phatty, so I decided to record a little something with it as a present to my friends at Moog and elsewhere. Most of it is overdubbed Phatty (a monosynth, BTW) except for the drums, piano, and organ.

Recording notes, if you're innarested.
Recorded and mixed at home in Logic (though a couple of initial tracks were recorded on my old Roland 1680, which i just sold on ebay for a depressingly low price), using my standard arsenal of cheap gear...
Vocals are mostly done with an Oktava 319 or SM57 thru an ART TubeMP>Alesis Nanocomp; acoustic guitar either AKG C1000 or SM57....
