reviving thread with some bit of info. http://cnettv.cnet.com/8301-13415_53...col%3brelblogs basically everytime you sync your phone with itunes, it will do a backup first. now, you can click the X and cancel the backup but I believe it will leave behind a corrupted backup. But there is a way to remove the whole process so you can sync the iphone without backup. just decided to mention this because I frankly got tired of the backup thing...

Expanding storage
Published (2009-12-24 15:29:00)
I need more storage space. I figured that I could either install a new HDD on my existing PC or buy an external HDD. A new HDD for the PC is a cheaper option but I have no idea how to install it myself. Mine is a DIY PC, 2 years old. Any ideas? Or do you think I should just get an external HDD and if so, what brand?

Heres a guide , might be abit dated though. Google a little on installing a hdd on a PC. Anyway, I have a Maxtor external 500GB HDD, if youre not into automatic backups do look out for those which dont support it, because youll pay more for it. Also, RPM...
