Signum Pro Hyperion
Published (2009-11-14 16:30:00)
I use it, and it's my favorite copoly along with the Tornado. It's not very durable for a mono string, so if you break strings often, avoid going under 1.24 gauge in Hyperion. It has very good power and nice spin for a copoly and UNCANNY tension and elasticity maintenance. I use my Hyperion as cross in a hybrid with VS 16 gut mains - and I can play on with this hybrid until I break the gut - after 12-15 hours with stringsavers...

Red stencil ink for black strings
Published (2009-11-14 21:58:00)
Red works alright, It's just not as clear a contrast as White or silver would be. I just did a racquet yesterday with a red smiley on black MSV strings. I used a Gamma version though. One has to be a bit liberal though, beware that stuff is SO hard to clean once it gets all over the place =P

If you hit with heavy topspin I bet you will love poly at lower tension. that's my guess. I played with MSV Hex 1.10 for a long time when I was using Dunlop Aerogel 100 (90 sq in). Nice string very easy on the arm. Insane spin. 2 problems: First, I was breaking them every other session Second and more importantly, since I switched to 4d 200 16x19 they lost their magic. with a bigger headsize and open pattern the stringbed became too...

Well sppp is prone to breakage, and I believe a constant pull machine like the wise should be set a few pounds lower than a crank to get the same "real" tension. Try doing it at 56-57 and see what happens.

I typically use my middle fingers or my index fingers. Honestly, just keep practicing and you'll get fast. The thing about slippery strings. There are several things you can do. Wipe you hands often (if it's like oily). When you feel that you can't push anymore, stop, pull some more slack thru, then continue.

It's not your imagination. K-Gut Pro is incredibly stiff. I think it's as stiff as most polys that I've tried. It's advertised as being very comfortable and good for people with elbow/arm problems. Nothing could be further from the truth! I put the K-Gut Pro just in the crosses at only 48lbs. with a very soft and resilient multi in the mains at only 54lbs. (a string that I've used for years ...

Depending on the string you use the racquet you use and your ability as a player stringing under 50 is a great option. Dense string patterns play a large part as well as the size of the frame. The other main part is players with classic strokes and eastern and semi western grips find it easier to use loser strings. Polyester strings also play a large part in being able to drop your ...
