I say STOP listening to people in the forum and listen to the advice that the best possible Orthopedic surgeon can give you. Find the one that specializes in Sports medicine as sub-specialty. I am sure you have good insurance. from what i can gather, you are middle class or above.....

How well did the shot work for you? My pain also included triceps tendinitis so I had to take the pills. Within 2 days I had no pain. Then it gradually came back when I started playing again.

Recovery is so quick nowadays on it, and better to avoid the arthritis. I'm 39 and have no cartilage in one knee and tears in the other, I waited too long to get the first done and they wound up shaving down the kneecap and drilling holes in it to improve blood flow and stave off arthritis about 3 years ago. Regardless I was back on the ice in just 4 weeks or so...our captain got 'scoped a month before districts and while not 100%...

Sure, you took his "instructions to heart" totally and without regard for your physical state. Any time your mind gets left out of the physical equation, an injury can happen. So when your coach tells you to run your butt off for EVERY shot, do you? Gotta think for yourself sometimes.

As burning calories is an intensely individual thing I think any device like this is never going to be very accurate. However, if you want to get one that at least pays homage to accuracy get one that works out calorie consumption in relation to maximum heart rate, or heart rate zones, age and weight. That will at least will give some correlation with level of effort. If you get one ...

Hard to tell. If pain is bearable, your sciatica isn't severe, and perhaps it could go away with time. For my sciatica, I went to a chiropractor and got ART (active release technique) and deep-tissue massage done. It helped tremendously and got rid of about 70% of pain (the therapy lasted a half year and then hit a plateau in improvement). Time healed the rest (although I still feel some ...

Look. People enjoy all sorts of winter sports even though it is really cold outside. So there is no reason not to play tennis on a cold day, as long as the court is in good condition. I play right down to 32 degrees. There should be plenty of afternoons in Chicago when the temperature gets that high over the next few months. Warm up beforehand with a little jog around the court, some ...
