Thanks for the compliment. I know how rare these cars are and how lucky I am to have it. Funnily enough I have been looking at gassing my V70 as the 20mpg isnt ideal! It is an auto but has a 5 speed box. 265bhp Not done anything today - works christmas do last night so feeling tender! Just trying to figure out how I am going to make a curved side and top and how they will join into each other.

So, you're not part of Team SEAS or Pioneer etc Anyway, if anyone judges a car by the brand of x, y or z they shouldn't be allowed to listen to such a car And, can you 'ruin' my car please as I can see you are a man of vision

The lack of an inner skin made deadning the outer skin much easier. Unfortunately, it means the speaker is mounted to the door card
The original mid was mounted to a thin ring of plastic which I sliced off. The overall depth was limited so I made a suitable ring from mdf and pressed it on some fibrefiller directly onto the door card.
Only deadened the driver's door card so I ...

So you've just used the actual wheel well as a box and sealed the top to the floor of the boot?
Saved on a bit of build time I should think!

I tend to silicone the baffle to the door for the bond, then bridging compound to make smooth/thick the join, then sound deaden over, to ensure the seal some more. No need for screws this way, and if you're neat, it's totally removable with enough force and a knife later, without the need for creating any more holes in the door skin/risking any rust.
As for deadening around the wires and over ...

Ciao Andrea!
A very nice looking install there. Were the crossovers custom made by hand by yourself? Very impressive!
More pictures would be good

As title, how do you start to do footwell builds.
I decided to do a full build up front with 2 sets of mids and a set of tweeters up front. Trying to stay away from using a sub
Using the front doors for the mid bassand the footwells for the mids and the tweeters on the a pillars.
Is this the best way and is there a "how to" on footweel builds
cheers

Have made a start with the base. Pulled the carpet off the base board, took a heat gun and screw driver to get the glue/staples off. Used a big square to mark some lines on the base board where I wanted to cut. Used a peice of drian pipe to round off the corner. Cut the peice into the two halfs.
Freshly de-carpeted and cut
Base of the subwoofer enclosure

Looks way cooler according to me.
The other 3 will suffer the same cause.
The pattern looks good, but the support still doens’t look the way I wanted too…So I guess I’m going to modify this some more.
