Not really in order 1. good friday agreement (nobody think the end of open war in Ireland significant?) 2. fall of Soviet Union / end of the cold war 3. world wide web 4. 9/11 (only real attacks on American soil are this, Pearl Harbour and the time the white house got burnt down by the Canadians) 5. enlargement of the EU the Iraq war is no big deal. The USA has been involved in a bunch of wars almost continually since 1945. Must be frustration...

1 - yes on the underside of the worktop draw round the sink. measure the gap between the sink edge and and "lip". this is usually 10/15mm or so. draw another line on the INSIDE of the sink outline 10 or 15mm in. cut this out and the sink will sit into it spot on. if your using a jigsaw for the cut, use a good blade and try and make it as bit a blade as possible so it stays level and doesnt bevel out. 3 - if your onabout to...

Work out where you want it, grab some insulation(electrical) tape or masking tape and stick that to the worktop to guide you, it's easier to see than a drawn line. For the straights, ram a circuler saw into the worktop! Then knock out the corners with a jigsaw. Half the time and effort and you will get a much straighter cut than you'd ever get with a jigsaw. If you get stuck, ask the Rug Doctor to help you out, he's a dab hand...

its incase someone asks a bloody obvious question when you'd respond with "thought about googling it". you just respond with that link to mock them.

Dunno why i'm having problems with this. I've used them loads of times. I've held the pilot in pressed the 'spark' igniter. Pilot flame burns, then once i've held it in for 10 seconds i let it go and the pilot light goes out. Then when i turn the knob to get more gas out i hear nothing. As long as i keep the pilot button pressed in it works otherwise it doesn't. Any ideas?...

How big an issue would it be for you? Falling prices, with the prospect of them falling further leading to potentially greater falls in demand, sales falling further, firms cutting pay or laying off staff... I'm struggling to see a seriously bad side for me personally. I have a long-term binding contract and my wages cannot be cut. Am I missing something?

I'm getting a little bit annoyed with the TV license people. I've just got my second letter and this one is 'AN OFFICIAL WARNING' . And rather threatening and angry.... apparently its my 'last chance'. Now, i haven't given them any indication that i am watching any TV channels in my new room (student halls of residence) but just because i've moved in they are sending letters basically ...

This may be an absolutely stupid question, but I'm going to ask it anyway! Watching TV the other day, I saw that stupid advert where the "dad goes green warrior...". Anyway, he was on about leaving the stand-by light on and about leaving things plugged in, like mobile-phone chargers... but before removing the charger from the plug-socket he turned the switch off at the plug. Which ...

Porch as in small entrance thingy.... Kinda like this but smaller, literally gives us a touch more room for shoes/coats, and means you dont walk immediately into the kitchen... Without the windows thought, ours is the only house in a little row of 6 houses that doesnt have one. Am I going to have to go through planning permission and stuff? Or can I just do it the pikey way...

Was out for a little ride around reading yesterday and stumbled across a BMX track. I've never tried riding around one of them before considering I don't have a BMX and that I'm not too hot on technical riding. I had a little play on it yesterday, got some little jumps out of the ramps but due to not wearing a helmet at the time i didnt want to push my luck too much. Was I silly to ...
