Hi, I have recently bought a Finale Carbon bow (French) from Stringemporium for 340 dollars http://www.stringemporium.com/carbon...-bass-bows. htm . This price included a hard-case and a cake of rosin of choice. During last weekends rehearsal I got to use my new bow a lot. We played a lot of Finnish folk in which my role was more to set an atmosphere in addition to setting time/groove....

I've added a bit to my profile. I've been playing bass fairly intensively for about 4.5 years, having switched from trombone. I have had a good teacher all along, but she is a German bow player. We are both puzzled by my arm aches.

I'm mostly an electric player but am eager to get back into bowing and pick up where I left off years ago. I play a French bow. Back when I started, I overpaid ($400) for a wood bow that plays fine. I've tried a couple carbon fiber bows that cost about $250 that feel easier to play. I'm thinking of going to my local retailer and comparing my wood bow with less expensive synthetic bows to ...

Hi I need a decent bow. Not hoping for something extraordinary, as I dont play arco much, nor can I do it too well, and I am on a budget. but something that would work with me, not against me so I've read some good things about Yita music bows."made by a professional Bow Maker: Yin Guohua" can someone say, is there any other difference between "top" and "fine" carbon bows on ...

Hi everyone, I've been playing upright with a bow for about a month. I have lessons with a teacher regularly. Last week I have started doing 2 octave scales.. And went to get my bow rehaired where I'm renting it from - Kolstain's in Long Island. I came in, and the guy just gave me another bow, and the hair on it was said to be new, but played on. It's called salt and pepper as my teacher called ...

Hi, we have a vintage wood, ivory shell brass ebony bow. Its pretty old and the stamp is almost gone even under 12x Is there some where I can go to research vintage German style bow makers? The best we can come up with is 6 letters. could be Blrini Blreni Rlmini etc etc. Gary used this bow for 20 years and never thought about it much. Now he is very retired , we are selling...

Count me in as one of the satisfied customers. I am not involved with the company, but I sure hope they keep adapting and innovating, as they do. For about one year now, I have used one of the cello Incredibows. Not a hair has been lost, even though at least at 3 occasions, I had caught the fine tuners on the tailpiece. You know, usually there is a casualty with horse ...
