Bizarre English names - Part 2

No! A facebook friend of one of my former students. It's so daft - I was looking at their University (in England) graduation pics. An elegant, educated young lady, with a huge 'handicap'.

Actually, probably my second fav Christmas gift was a hand made quilt from my Gran'ma. I don't have it any more, but I do have a king size spread that she crocheted. This crocheted spread was on my bed (and way too big for it) when I was nine and I was cutting some paper. Yep. I cut right through the spred! My mom carried it around for years and years, through many, many moves, hoping to find someone who knew enough to repair it...

My first real gun when I was maybe 12 -- a brand-new 12-bore Browning over-and-under with 1/2 and full choke. No more wee boy stuff with the poxy single-barrel 20-bore hammerlock for ME! Still have it, don't get to use it nearly enough.

Snake Pliskin! "Just call me Snaaake". Bet Goldie has fun with that at night! Damn those were good (ya, and stupid) old movies. Good to watch with a six pack.

I'd like to take this question a step farther and ask for responses on any heating system that has been installed in an apartment. I'm thinking of fixing a place up "western style" including forced heating. Or at least a fireplace! Is there a more appropriate forum than Open Forum for this question?

Seriously, no one sells unplated aluminium pots these days. Its considered toxic. They are crappy to cook in and burn fairly easily. Although, I know in the days of yore the juice of lemon used to make Aluminium sparkle but I dunno what to clean it with before use. Ordinary, dish washing soap I guess? Anyways here's a . link

I think the AIT should look into this. US bills should be accepted as long as they are legitimate. The US govt needs to back its currency. This non acceptance of some US bills is not right.

The one that I remember most from my childhood (so I guess it was the one that left the biggest impression on me) was a Matchbox racing track (kind of like a Scalextrix) that my dad found for sale second-hand in the paper and got for me to share with my big brother. Since there were two cars that raced each other, this was a great present to share. I still remember how excited I was to get it.

Yup. "I" is never acceptable when it's occupying a position that should be expressed in the objective case. Phrases like "Just between you and I" drive me nuts.
