This is what I remember from last weekend when she used it: In the CPU Meter gadget in her sidebar the computer is using about 63% of her total 1.5 GBs of memory. Okay, one other thing, I loaded Word 2007 onto her system about a month back, so the new Word does use a bit more resources than the old copy of Word 2000. I know her CPU is the bottleneck, but I think I might have figured out when her slow typing response comes into play....

Don't know how many of you use gmail, but it is really good. I currently have 2 Hotmail, a Live Mail, a Yahoo Mail, an AOL mail, and 3 Gmail accounts. Hey, I hate spam and don't want IM services clogging up my computer, so I have accounts that let me IM through the web (g-talk is awesome). But last week or so Hotmail did a major update, and it sucks. It seems slower than ever, and is pissing me off to no end, so I'm thinking of...

I mention the pico because awhile back, we had a thread about a nifty little box that used one, currently selling for $300: http://www.logicsupply.com/products/artigo I need something that will fit in a 3x3 cavity for robotics work, so the mobile form factor sounds very sexy.

I'll probably try them later. I'm happy with my current 177.83 drivers at the moment. Upgrading to a GTX 260 Core 216 here soon, so I'll switch them out whenever that comes around.

This is my venting post about my regrets at not convincing my father to let me build my mother's computer instead of buying a crap $450 (after tax) one from Micro Center about a year ago. Her computer specs are here: Powerspec V101 I recently spent $14 and upgraded your memory from 512 MB to 1.5 GBs. I was rather hoping her computer would speed up some, well not enough. Whenever she...

Source It seems AT&T will soon follow in Comcast's footsteps, except in this case, the cap is much lower. Each "speed" will also have their own bandwidth cap. PCMag has noted the number "150". No indication as to which speed gets the 150 GB / month cap. If it's the 6.0 mbps speed, then I (on the 3 mbps) might end up going over every few months if it's below 75 GB / month. At least...

The coolness of the tech aside, if you need a good laugh this morning go and watch the video at the link: ASRock's Instant Boot: 0 to Vista in 4 seconds I was lol the whole time. Just watch it. But my understanding was that AsRock was a part of ASUS, so now I'm confused why ASUS doesn't already have this.
