I think the first scene will have something to do with Richard, it does fit the pattern on lost of showing a character with a background unknown to us. I reckon he is from the black rock however the lost writers have a way of twisting everything so you never know. As for him being the captain??? i don't think that someone with his kind nature could be the captain of a slave ship. but thats just my opinion. Look at Ben, he was a nice...

I believe that they did change the past, but it will change back, AND the fact that they came from an alternate timeline to change it back was always part of Lost history. thats a really good theory having everything go back to normal but the people who were touched by Jacob still remember what happened that would be really awesome, but I dont think thats what will happen. I think it will not change what happened what so ever I think it will send them back to the time period they should be in. What they did was the incident that the guy described on the orientation...

You never know with Lost, could be that because they know that we know that it's likely they're trying to throw us off and just land in LAX anyway. Or maybe they considered that possibility thus knowing that we know that they know that we know they'd be trying that they simply do not land in LAX.

It's kind of unlikely but I always liked to think that it'd start of with a civilization and a few minutes later we'll figure out that, that civilization are in the temple. Like how they did with the hatch and the others in season 2 and 3 openers.
