RCI points expiring
Published (2009-12-29 13:58:00)
I just talked to Shana at RCI Points, and she has been there longer than almost anyone at RCI, and she said if your points expire tomorrow, nothing you can do about it. Transferring them to someone else, even if their use year is different, would just be a waste of time, because they would still be gone tomorrow. Sorry because I was willing to buy them from you. She also said Canadian residents cannot get the RCI Activities card for 20,000...

RCI points expiring
Published (2009-12-28 19:19:00)
Those 202,000 points were deposited into my RCI account in January 2007. So they were banked with RCI for three years already. I was hoping someone would know how to get the RCI activities card online from Canada. An activity card would better than nothing.

Do Not Buy Festiva Points
Published (2009-12-26 11:55:00)
For the last 3 years every time I stay at my resort (Blue Ridge Village), Festiva hits me with a new lie, oops I mean sales strategy. All lies lead to trying to force me to give up deeded fixed weeks for Festiva Adventure Club Points. Festiva Points are worthless and anyone who finds this thread please don't fall prey to festiva's lies and buy Festiva points or even worse give them your deeded week and several thousand dollars for...

You can roll over 2008 points for one year by paying $99 but you have to do this through a guide.

Selling RCI Points
Published (2009-12-28 06:06:00)
My husband and I purchased a Time Share on Hilton Head several years ago. We now have 163,500 RCI points. We have used our home resort one time. Does not look like we'll be able to get away in 2010. Is there a way to sell the points we have for use for this year. I know I've seen people sell weeks they are not using for the year but I've not seen points?

RCI points expiring
Published (2009-12-29 05:59:00)
My use year begins July 1. I have no idea what the rules are about transferring points soon to expire points to another member but if you determine that doing so is possible and would save the points, I'd be glad to have you "park" them in my Points account and give you access to it so that you could reserve something for a future vacation. PM me if I can help you. Otherwise, call RCI and speak to one or more VGs, and...

Do Not Buy Festiva Points
Published (2009-12-27 12:21:00)
Quote: Three years ago I was called and told that Festiva had purchased my resort (Blue Ridge Village) and I HAD to come to a meeting where Festiva would explain the changes that were occurring at the resort since Festiva had taken over from Wyndham. I was told that if I didn't come to the meeting to be informed of the changes then the weeks I owned would become worthless and I would be assessed large amounts on money. Of course when I...

If your points are 2009 points, why wouldn't you just pay the fee to roll them to the next use year. It costs $26 to roll them to 2010, or if you have used any of your 2009 points, you don't have to pay $26.
Are you saying these are 2008 points that are expiring? If so, what a shame, because someone would have gladly rented them from you.

I agree that if you do any work at all you'll be able to buy CI points at <$90/pt.
CI has ROFR, I wonder if any of those sales had ROFR used?
Just a FYI to anyone interested in CI. CI has a rule where only point packages of 120 points or more can be added by purchasing resale points. So, be careful to buy as many points as you need/want because buying more can be difficult. I wanted ...

When you look at RHC they seem to look good. Point based, nice locations, but you're not the first to complain that they are very difficult to deal with.
Glad you're happy

No you are better off in points. The inventory in weeks will only be going
down as more people convert to points and since new resorts will be points
only.

My mother in law just gave us 152000 points. We own DVC so we already have vacations in place for the near future. Half of the RCI points will expire in Dec 2010. Being a teacher I am limited on travel dates. So we are thinking Caribbean for xmas 2010. I am hearing that it is a slim chance. How can I "up" my chances. Love to stay at the Windjammer. Any other resorts I should look at? ...
