Orlando has way too many TSs even though the demand for TS in Orlando is huge. Which means that the trading power of most TSs in Orlando is not that great. BUT IMHO, the Marriott TS in Orlando will continue to trade well and have pretty good trade power. This is true because if a person using II wants to stay in an Orlando TS which TS would you choose, a no name TS or a Marriott TS? I bet you'd choose the Marriott. Because of this I...

Yes, I got the offer. It came in the mail in early October. Use the card 10 times in each of October, November and December and get a free category 1-4 night certificate. Use it within 6 months of being awarded after the promotion is over. The offer was targeted. Thus, if you didn't get the offer, you can't benefit from it. There were various offers. One required spending $1,500 in each of those three months. Another required...

This is the one main reason I do not sign up for "green" only bill delivery. Either it doesn't get sent, it gets into my spam folder or, I change ISP's and e-mail accounts but forget one or two of the dozens of auto e-mail accounts I have.

I'd check out the maintenace fees and special assessments at Streamside before you buy. Many weeks, even ski weeks, sell for little or nothing because of the very high maintenace fees and a big special assessment. Also, note that not all Streamside buildings are Marriott's and the ones that are with the possible exception of Evergreen are not up to Marriott's standards.

Hi Mark
I would be interested if Allen Cohen the president of the owners association endorses this action. I trust that he is looking out for our best interest. I would love to see a class action suit related to the unfair way sales people market the timeshares and fail to disclose all of the rules of the program. They only provide the positive side of the transactions and I am not naive ...

I received an AC recently when I bought a Getaway at Marriott Harbour Lakes. II was having a promotion (daily deal offers). This particular AC can only be used within 59 days of check-in - but I only have to pay the $139 exchange fee to use it. I'll use it for Orlando in September so I should be fine on being able to use it.
The true test for me on AC's will be when it comes time to deposit...

I own at the Westin. Quality-wise the resorts are very similar - the main difference is that the Marriott is right in the middle of the action on popular Ka'anapali Beach and the Westin is about a mile up the beach - north of Black Rock. I think which resort you prefer will depend on the type of location you prefer. The Westin is a large resort with all the amenities and great snorkeling, but ...

You can type in concierge into the keyword search. Most of the full service
marriotts have them (ie, JW, Renaissance, and Marriott) while the limited
service hotels don't (Courtyard, Springhill, Fairfield Inn,etc.) don't.

The biggest question I have about Disney building so close to Marriott's Ko Olina property is what impact being positive or negative will it have on the Marriott timeshare?
I guess I envision it getting more expensive and crowded. I am not looking forward to going to Ko Olina in the summers at all now. It may become worse than Orlando.

Disney trades through RCI only - they haven't been with II for about a year. If you are a Disney owner, you can also use your points at another Disney Resort. If you go to the TUG Exchange Forum, and use the search function to searcy for Disney, you will find a lot of info.

Thanks for the heads up about the news. I checked my e-mail and sure enough, we had a message from Marriott, too, about the name change.

Just call reservations on your elite # and tell them to book it with your
free night. Good thing your not trying to book a room for a Yankee home
game. All the hotels are sold out years in advance for those games.

Go to Marriott's vacationclub.com resort directory, find Marbella and on the owner's page there is an excellent map of the resort layout. We stayed in a 3 bedroom in bldg. 31 and had nice views and it was quiet. The closer to the main pool, the more noise. Be aware the top floor (3rd) has no balcony cover. We did have an umbrella, though. Almost all units have some ocean view. We really liked ...
