Thanks Everyone, PMs and posted messages revealed that the pages I'm looking for were in the 2001 book. I sent out an Email SOS to members of the NY timeshare owners group and one member called to let me know that he has the book. The NY members live within a 50 mile radius. As luck would have it, this couple lives within one mile of our home so I will be able to pick it up on our way to court.

They currently have a studio available on Get-a-way for $350. If you get that one, you could ask Marriott to "put them together" and get a 2 bd unit.

Been timeshareing for 12 years. (Not as much as some by any means) I never paid very much for my resorts although some of the timeshare's mfs have increased greatly. I dont know about Westin in Maui, I think the mf's are over $2k. Sands of Kahana are a little cheaper but if you want Maui then you have to think about what people pay in mfs. Are you ready to pay that amount. I wont ever deposit my Hawaii weeks with II because I wont...

I have used SFX exclusively for the past 12+ years. They definitely do NOT have any restrictions on how often you can exchange into the same property. We have exchanged multiple times into properties that had the RCI 1 in 4 or 1 in 5 rule. We exchanged into the Manhattan Club last year through SFX. We have a confirmed reservation for a week next August at the new HGVC West 57th street through SFX. We chose the new HGVC rather than Manhattan...

Quote: John said: Again, this is only valid for 3 years. After that RCI can instantly move it all to the rental pool if they want to. That's what you get with an ignorant judge - ignorant to the timeshare industry. John, It could have been a lot worse if it had not been for our own Jennie who spoke up in Court to volunteer to receive the reports that RCI is required to disseminate. Guess who was originally chosen to receive the reports...

Traded a Marriott Easter week studio at Branson for a studio at KoOlina in October and II called me and asked me if I wanted to pay another $99 Marriott exchange fee for a 2 bedroom - yep. Was also able to trade my Marriott Easter week 1 bedroom for a 3 bedroom at Grande Vista for early March.

So you have from now until 60 days out to get a 1 year replacement week. For all the details see this TUG II FAQ . Here it the pertinent info.- Quote: If I have a confirmed exchange and have to ...

I can speak only to the Starwood (Westin) resorts in Hawaii. Exchanges are inherently uncertain and most on this board would advise against buying for the sole purpose of exchanging. But in this lousy economy, there has been very good availability for Starwood-preferenced exchanges into the Starwood resorts in Hawaii during shoulder season (April - May; September - December 15). I believe if you used a 2 bedroom to trade you are entitled to a 2 bedroom in return. You can call II to check on that. You can also call them and look online every day to see if a 2 bedroom unit becomes available. You have a lot of time and I believe a 2 bedroom will show up for you.

Spain should really not be a problem. There is a lot of timeshare there. Italy is a hard trade. Scotland is easier than England. That is true with most exchange companies, and certainly with RCI. When I have looked at the lists at DAE, I have usually seen Spain, and sometimes Scotland, and occaisionally Italy in summer. In Italy, the mountains of south Tirol is usually the easiest place ...

As you noted, II's "trading power" chart relates only to a specific area. If a particular week in a particular area has a 130 trading power rating, that means it is more desirable than a lower rated week IN THAT AREA. It bears no relation to the trading power of a week rated 130 in a different area. In fact, it is likely that a Hawaii week rated 100 is a stronger trader than a week rated 120 ...

I can't speak from personal experience, but my understanding is that the 1 in 4 rule is RCI's policy. I have read that SFX has no such policy. You could call them and ask. Sue

I don't know the answer, but it seems to make economic sense. Why let a unit go empty if you can rent it for a discounted price? It might encourage a few people to hold out and not book earlier, but most people won't wait. The last minute folks will be people who wouldn't be traveling if they hadn't seen the last minute deal. Or folks with hotel reservations that they could cancel. Sheila
