T100 Hot Start Problem
Published (2010-01-02 00:01:00)
There might be a better way, but I've done this to check if there is fuel pressure to the rail: Next time is doesn't fire up, leave the key on so the pump is primed, take the plastic timing belt cover bolts out and slide the cover out of the way. Behind it is a short metal fuel line that is bolted on both sides. Stuff a rag in there to catch fuel and loosen the bolt(s). If that line doesn't have pressure, neither does the rail....

Yeah, sounds right. My speedo cable leaks too, but not my output shaft.

Its gear oil leaking out of the transfer case output shaft seal and what looks like the speedo sensor/cable o-ring. Not a very difficult job with basic mechanical skills and good tools.

They are stuck on...no holes. Use a heat gun to help soften the adhesive so there's less clean up later.

OK so if your getting it to start with fluid when it is "not starting" its safe to say that the computer and all ignition systems are good. Now with that being said it is in the fuel system. I am confident in saying its the fuel pump not holding pressure on the fuel rail when its hot. What happens is it looses pressure then bleeds back in to the tank and causes the fuel rail to vapor lock. ...

not sure about the tundra but I had the same problem on my 94 pickup. Ended up tracing down the wires and found a wire burnt in to under passenger side seat where the harness comes up in the cab. It was burnt right at the plug connector. That fixed my problem but I would say that was rare. Good luck
