LCE Clutch
Published (2009-12-28 13:33:00)
Just called LCE, told the guy what I have and what I use it for/intend to use it for and he said that the pro clutch is the better choice. He told me it wouldnt be grabby/jerky, just a slightly stiffer pedal. Ordered one up, hopefully it will be here by the weekend so i can install saturday. I guess we will see how it works then. Thanks for the responses guys.

Got my cheapo tundra headers in- they look great and bolt up perfect- even have flat flanges, atleast on my engine stand . Now if the 6ft of snow on my runner would melt (better not cuz i love skiing thru May) I will start my 1UZ + 3link project. Ahh summer

3.4 conversion crossover pipe

I do know a guy (master tech actually) that is running the front O2 sensor in one bank, but I think he's using an older ECU (like 98 or 99 IIRC). Here's his swap thread: http://www.yotatech.com/f160/22r-5vz-swap-126413/ You can see in his pics he's got dual exhaust (no crossover at all).

LCE Clutch

I would just get an OEM. I got the lce clutch anf flywheel for a deal in my race truck and there was no major advantage i could tell from driving it with 35s.

Need a set of Downey headers
Published (2009-12-29 11:29:00)
Haha everyone says that they suck yet I have put them on two tacomas with zero problems - until now(after 5 years of supercharged and racing for hours on end I expected them to take a shit) If I go with Thorley's, I will need to make a new exhaust as well because my X-over pipe is made to the Downey geometry...so I want to stick with what I have.

Dont stop now!!! I have a 94 sc 1uz on an engine stand in my garage tempting me everytime i walk in. Has all accessories/ecu and hope to pull off CA smog in the end (well see) Mating up my R151 dual ultimate manual tranny with a CRS bellhousing and 30lb flywheel with the ring gear, uses a 3vz clutch. Wiring will be my nemesis. Cooling seems to present difficulties as well. This is all ...

Make your own... it's painfully easy to do out of the stock manifolds. There's a full how-to on yota-tech (i don't have the link handy, as I'm at work. It's bookmarked on my home computer)

Do you have a super charger? That would be about the only reason I could see needing that clutch. Why not just an OEM clutch from www.toyotapartsales.com ? If you are set on getting a clutch kit from LCE, I'd stick with the street kit.

I like mine no more cracked manifolds on the 2.7 for me, I cracked two in a year, I got mine from O'reillys auto parts for about the same price. But they ordered in the 2.4 ones I think, no real difference because the manifolds are the same just different cats, long story short it wouldn't bolt to the cat so cut the part that bolts to the cat off the original pipe and welded it to the header "...
