I think that covers everything for the dark mod released up to this point. I know "Thief's Den" and "St. Lucia" exist but I don't believe they are playable in the release version of TDM yet so I'll have to hold off on reviewing those. Whew, all done. I'm afraid I'll have to give up on releasing something Dec. 15. I want my first mission to be at least a bit enjoyable, and I still have to learn too many things to release something that fast. Don't think I'm giving up completely though - thanks to this I finally started DromEd and I can't stop now. I hope to release something early next year.

Excellent stuff, SJ ; you obviously put plenty of time & thought into this Dark Mod review. I found it very clear & informative - to the point where I feel I now have a much clearer view of (most of) the pros & cons of TDM. The mod's makers seem to have done an amazing job so far, & I also hope that stability issues & melee combat (which I've only ever been reasonable at) can be improved; but...

the reason I called this the 50X100X100 challenge is I was busy working on Two Fathers, and writing, voice acting, and beta-testing "Secret Weapon" for Thorin, but I wanted to make a contest release for the experience before releasing Two Fathers. I figured if, in 14 days of spare time, I released the throw-away mission A Thief Nonetheless in Komag's contest, and it was 25X50X100, 100X100 would be OK in double that time. The...

I've gotten some things thrown together, this will be more of a demo type mission in which I'm shooting for a more artistic look instead of the industrial stuff I've been messing with.

To start us off I recently replayed Heist Society by Asylum (with some help from Yandros according to the readable with the mission) and damn was that enjoyable.
A giant mansion to loot with plenty to see and do, guards everywhere and plenty of perfectly placed shadows to make things flow just right. This will forever be one of my favorite mansion missions and I wonder what happened ...

Seems to me that DR is the way to go.
While Dromed provided huge reward for a decade, whatever you may do will always look better in DR. And it is continuously improved - it's a young lad compared with old grumpy Dromed.
