My DH walked into a doctor's office with what he thought was a head cold and was handed antibiotics. The doctor told him that if it goes away, it was an infection. If it didn't go away, it was a head cold. Yes, a medical doctor in a well-respected office. The 'cold' got better. DH now swears that he had something well worse than a cold and the antibiotics cleared it up. Who cares that he was 3-4 days into the illness, which...

Ban Declawing?

I think it's cruel and aside from extreme situations(like Elizabeths) I think it should be banned. When an extreme situation arises I think the vet along with the pet owner should have to put in a claim as to why they need the procedure and a board should have the right to decide. I love my dog like a second child and there is no way I would ever put him through a procedure like that just to save furniture! IMO if you're a an animal...

If the government is to represent humanity as a whole, I think it's important that we let a natural checks and balances take place. If we are such a variety in this country and in yours then we aren't going to have a majority of one overtaking. We will have a few represented and it should even out.

Ban Declawing?
Published (2009-11-10 07:20:00)
we are having my cat declawed, but not because of scratching furniture. actually, i never really had a problem with him scratching anything he wasnt supposed to. he will be declawed because he has a disease that causes his teeth to fall out and his nails to partly decay and turn black. whenever we clip his nails, it causes extreme pain (due to his disease). he is an indoor cat and it breaks my heart to watch him cry when we have to clip his...

Totally over used. My cousin inlaw is one of those women who will go to the doc at the first sign on a runny nose (for her or her kids) and demand medication. It irritates me so much!

We will not be assimilated resistance is not futile. Our thoughts are not one. I won't teach my kids to be drones. They have minds and will be taught to express their thoughts and opinions when it's appropriate to do so. I bet I will fail at this and sometimes my kids will say something at completely the wrong time and make me want to scream but it's a goal. My mother said sorry to me once. She was wrong I was right -but- I was...

Some of the best conversations I have are with Cameron. I would never take that from him. He is bright, articulate, he understands some things that adults can't even grasp. I don't think it is about seen and not heard. For me it is teaching boundaries, manners, respect and having conversations (meaning listening as well as speaking). That there is a time and place for everything.

They allow spouses & other caretakers to learn to administer injections...really, if the person isn't squeamish I don't think it's that difficult to learn. Me, I get squeamish so my dh is SOL if he ever needs to to administer a daily shot!

Guillian Barre is a rare side effect from EVERY VACCINE!! Every single vaccine that anyone has ever taken has this rare side effect. And correct me if I'm wrong, but the swine flu we have today is not the same strain as any swine flu before us (because then a lot of people would have immunity and it wouldn't be a big deal) and therefore the shot must be different.

Anecdotal evidence works well for me in regards to parenting where due to every family's and every child's unique needs and wants, overly generalized rules and limiters fail. It also works when it's coming from a very trustable source. Say, my friend goes to a concert at a certain arena and goes off on the parking and the security and the sound. All I'd be hearing is one piece of 'anecdotal' ...

I am a firm believer in letting the body try to heal itself first. If the immune system is never allowed to do its job the infection will always return and become more resistant to the body's efforts as well as antibiotics. Of course there are some serious infections that do need antibiotics but most can be cured if the body is allowed to rest and do its job. When allowed to, it will form ...

I think it is definitely dependent on the case. In that article I agree with the judges decision. Rape is rape, I don't care how old you are...if you're old enough to break into someones home and rape them you are old enough to do the crime. Rape goes beyond poor judgment and peer pressure, if you have the ability to rape someone their is definitely something wrong with your moral code and ...

Hm...I'm not sure. from my own experience, and that of my girls, I'd tend to say no. I didn't feel there was gender bias when I was in school, and I haven't really seen it occur with my kids. BUT...I was one of 3 girls in the computer program at my college, and the only female to graduate. The same school offered a nursing program, and there was only one male student. Why does this happen?...

I sit with Austin when he says his prayers so I am not sure how to answer that. I am going to go with at her age yes it is ok. Obviously what is happening in her life is bothering her. It's very sad but maybe this will help your sister realize what they are doing to your niece.

To add: The question goes to people of every country on TMP, not just Americans. Even if gay marriage is legal in your country, consider other civil liberties that hypothetically, might be taken away from some groups if voters were allowed to make those decisions.

Well, even though these sites were gaining popularity when I was growing up and when I was a teenager I guess I can't accurately answer your last question. I do not think that sites like Facebook and Myspace are kid friendly, and I think a lot of preteen and teens abuse their freedom on these kinds of sites. I have several teens(my cousins and brother) on my facebook and i've been disgusted...
