I think the pacifier thing parents fear teeth damage - same with thumb sucking.

The homework assignments the guest mentioned were to have your child draw a picture, and then to write down what they tell you about it. The other one was to let them find objects around your house and glue them onto a thick piece of card stock, and then once again have them dictate to you what they made. She also showed two more academic assignments that some preschools are doing. They were both worksheets. One had about 50 shamrocks on it,...

At our house it is not a toy and I wash them all the time so it is usually as clean as the kids are. They are around all the germs they sit in carts and play with other kids and play outside wherever their blankie or blue baby would be so that is not an issue with me at all. Lauren I am the same way here I blue baby but if I could chop off the thumb Austin is always sucking on and get away with it.....

I had my blankie until I was five. I didn't take it with to the stores or anything, but I do remember having it when I was a flower girl in a wedding and I was so scared (age 5). I am just sad that Andrew doesn't have a lovie--he never has.

I have to say I'm not a fan of gauges or anything that could leave permanent marks. I'm afraid my girls will do something like that in college, then by 35 be really sorry. Tattoos are one thing...those gauges...ugh, I can only guess what the lobes will look like after their removed *shudder*

We didn't, because everyone we care about knew when she was born and got to see pictures on facebook and through our blog so we didn't see a point. I try to save birth announcement and cards, but they usually end up getting lost somewhere. But that doesn't mean I appreciate them any less. I love getting things like that!

I haven't received any from other people I know that have had kids, but I have known them to get them custom made with a photo of their choice and then mail them out to their friends and family. I honestly can't remember what I did with Kayliana, but with Addison, I made my own on the computer, had them printed out and then mailed them out to my family members. __________________

Tina and Shay, yes, I remember my mother being very concerned about long-term damage to my teeth/jaws because I sucked my thumb until I was in 6th or 7th grade. Well, until I was about 7, my parents were concerned about my teeth...after that, they were concerned about my mental health - which is also MY biggest concern when I see older children with lovies. I was sexually abused at 6, and then I sucked my thumb until middle school, and even...

I don't see anything wrong with. I let lil M bring his blankies or stuffed animals if he wants to. No harm in that...If he's nervous about something then why not provide him with an object that will comfort him.

It seems a little fast to me. I would want proof that this flu was in some way effecting the baby. Is there decreased heart rate or movement? There would have to be a clear sign of distress from baby to make me allow them to take it out that early. Furthermore I would request an amnio to test the lung maturity. I think staying there and being monitored is the better option at least until she can ...

Homework should be "Bring something red for show and tell" or something like that. Nothing drastic. I've watched that show in the past. It had some cute ideas for things to do with Ethan but I have no follow through. __________________

Yes, bisexuality exists. I think people gay or straight or in the middle have the ability to remain faithful. Cheating, at least IMO, isn't about wanting to have sex. I don't know if I'd be with someone who'd been with another guy. I didn't really think about it before I went and fell in love with DH.

a friend of mine did this with her 2 week old son - only showing his bits, i wont ever post naked pics of kaine. Times have changed from 30 yrs ago just about everyone has access to the internet so its easier for peadophiles to get pictures of naked children and you can only have so much control over who sees what unlike back in the day where there was no internet and no digital camera and ...

Hm...I'm not sure. from my own experience, and that of my girls, I'd tend to say no. I didn't feel there was gender bias when I was in school, and I haven't really seen it occur with my kids. BUT...I was one of 3 girls in the computer program at my college, and the only female to graduate. The same school offered a nursing program, and there was only one male student. Why does this happen?...
